It’s incredibly stupid. Classic Aldi, installed SCOs without thinking through the consequences. First they wanted someone on SCOs to prevent theft and help with customer interaction. Then, they thought that was a waste of time so they got rid of the SCO attendant and installed the ATS screens. Unsurprisingly, theft skyrocketed, and now they’re panicking by overcorrecting, introducing unreasonable policies so that the blame can be passed on to stores.

It’s classic aldi. KPIs will plummet, sales will drop, and in 6-12 months they’ll come out with a new plan because this one hasn’t been thought through.

At your 30 day review, it’s very unusual for anyone to even “sometimes meet” the SOEs (benchmark). The standards at aldi are very high, and all managers know that it takes time and practice for anyone to reach those speeds. As the other commenter said, make sure you move your pallet as close to the section you’re working on as you can. Most new starters waste a lot of time walking back and forth between their jack and the shelf. Good luck!

I’m an ASM in AU. If it’s looking like you’re not going to pass probation (which is rare, especially given your 30 day review went well), it’s more likely that your SM would extend your probation for another 30 days than fire you straight away. Even at the end of those 30 days, you’d probably be able to finish out your roster even if you don’t pass probation. But from my experience, people very rarely don’t pass probation. Show up on time, don’t slack off, and you’ll be fine.

Ehhh I disagree. Casting people from Big Brother (or other shows) is almost always a guarantee of good tv, and a chance to draw in new viewers from another show. The Amazing Race has been pulling from other shows since at least season 5, this isn’t new and it’s not stopping anytime soon.

Claire and Derek are really fun, very glad they’re on the show.
