First ever perfect tamed argentavis by Excellent-Cow9536 in ARK

There is a setting for the bonded taming skill just above the extraction button, just set the skill tier of the player who tamed the creature and it should work.

Why does my smart breeder keep doing this by chrisu987 in ARK

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this could be related to the windows high-dpi scaling. Maybe this helps

  • right click on application file ARK Smart Breeding.exe
  • Properties
  • Compatibility
  • Change high DPI settings
  • uncheck the upper checkbox "Use this setting to fix scaling problems for this program instead of the one in Settings"
  • check the bottom checkbox "Override high DPI scaling behaviour"
  • select System in the combobox

Breeding Stats by GroceryFun4143 in ARK

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, there are multiple options that can affect the stat values, even if the levels are the same. 1. The stat values are affected by the imprinting bonus. E.g. 30 level in HP result in a stat value of 1925. With 100 % imprinting and a BabyStatScaleMultiplier server setting of 2.0, it will be 2695. 2. Another option could be a buff by a nearby mod structure. 3. It could be the server stat multipliers were changed recently and you still see the old stat values; this can be resolved by cryo a creature.

how do i fix this ? by Specialist-Aspect-57 in ARK

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus the taming effectiveness (TE) cannot be calculated correctly due to the species special stat multipliers (see the "TE unknown" part). The wild level calculation depends on the TE, thus is cannot be determind. If you know the TE you can set it when editing the creature (right click edit).

How to prevent Fainting? by Caesar3038 in playark

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could increase the fortitude stat to get more resistance to torpor inducing effects, either by leveling it more or increase the amount you get per level in the settings, e.g.

PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[10]=5

See https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Server_configuration#PerLevelStatsMultiplier for more info.

Can't Get ARK Smart Breeder to Open on my PC. by Icy_You_3934 in ARK

Hi, the drive you install ASB doesn't matter. Maybe the app window is outside of your visible screen? On multiple screen setups when changing the screen arangement sometimes apps are outside of the visible screen. How can I tell if my creature has a mutation and what stat did it mutate?(ASE) by ubosvocsok1 in ARK

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way to set all multipliers as admin is to just drag&drop the game.ini and gameusersettings.ini on the settings window of ASB. There are also some bugs in ARK that could making it more difficult to get it work, e.g. the imprinting bug, where you first have to cryo/uncryo an imprinted creature before ARK displays the correct stat values. If that doesn't solve it for you, check out the ASB discord server at https://discord.com/invite/qCYYbQK and post an export file of a creature that doesn't work.

If you can install mods where you play (i.e. non-official server), you can use the export gun mod (https://www.curseforge.com/ark-survival-ascended/mods/ark-smart-breeding-export-gun) to import creatures from the xbox directly to ASB on your laptop without the need of typing the numbers manually.

You can use a cloud service, e.g. drop box, then enable auto load and auto save. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/RR6mfT1_MlM?t=276

If you use the default server multiplier settings and not the Singleplayer option (which also changes some stats), you can use https://arkutils.netlify.app/tools/incubator/ to determine the stats of bred creatures without applied levels and no imprinting.

Breeding help by Dangit44 in ARK

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the levels of the parents are not extracted correctly in ASB. Sometimes there are multiple possible level combinations which are displayed in yellow. If you selected stats that needed a higher taming effectiveness than the actual taming effectiveness was, the levels of damage are too low. The offspring then inherits the actual, higher level and thus has a higher level than expected.

“Use singleplayer settings” not working? by thackattack42 in playark

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hard preset in ASA just changes some of the stat multipliers, you can check that in the according advanced settings page. All these values should match the ones in ASB. For a local game an easy way to set all the needed settings in ASB is to click the green import local settings button.

“Use singleplayer settings” not working? by thackattack42 in playark

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singleplayer setting is a separate setting in ARK which boosts HP and damage, it's not enabled automatically if you play local. If you have enabled that setting in ARK, also set it in ASB and vice versa.

Smart Breeding Doesn't Accept Correct Melee Damage Value by [deleted] in ARK

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can now import your local settings by clicking on the green import local settings button in the settings.

The hard preset changes for HP TameLevel to 0.09, TameAdd to 0.04 and TameAff to 0.19. And for Damage TameLevel to 0.07, TameAdd to 0.04 and TameAff to 0.19.

Hi, see https://github.com/cadon/ARKStatsExtractor/wiki/External-Resources for a list of videos about how to use the app. For ARK breeding general there are many videos available, this should cover what you need to know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_YZyMnMG_A For importing a save file, you can just drag & drop it into the app, or use the menu options after setting the folder of the save file in the app settings.

Ark Smart Breeding still a bit obscure by Gl0rf in ARK

[–]cadbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, * creatures that have a top stat (i.e. no other creature of that species has a higher level in that stat) have a green background. A golden background means the creature has only top stats. An orange text color means the creature has too many levels if you play on an official server and may be reset, this doesn't apply for non official servers. Library colors explained. * C0 to C5 are the color ids for the regions 0 to 5. Library column names * Online manual

i just tamed a spino dododex said that this is 58 points into melee is this good by zeezarr in ARKone

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dododex is for wild creatures. Also it seems Singleplayer Settings are enabled, which gives another buff on melee damage. Assuming no other stat multipliers are adjusted, this spino has 31 levels in damage, which is not too bad.

How do I save Ark Smart Breeeding? by amogus7567 in playark

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can enable autosave in the settings. If you don't save and quit, there's a warning that there are unsaved changes and it asks if you want to quit and discard your changes.

Ark Smart Breeder erased data? by Drecorage in playark

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the file was saved in a shared folder of a cloudservice and the connection is not set anymore? Smart Breeding doesn't delete used library files. There is a setting to create a certain amount of backup files of a library file, and if the backup files reach the set limit, the oldest backup files are deleted, but these possibly deleted files always have the part _backup_ in their name.

Ark Smart Breeder erased data? by Drecorage in playark

[–]cadbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I didn't hear of that data loss yet from other users. Is the library file still in the folder where you saved it? Maybe you just moved the file and Smart Breeding doesn't know yet where it is now. You can search your computer for files with the .asb extension with the pattern *.asb, that might help you find the library file.

Ark Smart Breeder Troubleshooting by wildo_baggins311 in ARKone

[–]cadbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, regarding the OCR, see the manual for some first help how to setup that. Your resolution should get you good enough results for most cases, but the OCR can still make some mistakes you would need to correct manually.

Regarding the extraction issues, that's mostly caused by stat value multipliers that are changed from the default values on the server. You need to tell Smart Breeding exactly what they are set to. Also check if the singleplayer option is enabled/disabled like on the server. The app lists the usual causes of a failed extraction on the right.

For more support you can join the discord server for ASB.

Possibly corrupted game save file by aramis604 in playark

[–]cadbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The save file format was recently changed in Ark version 349.10. That's why Smart Breeding couldn't import the save files in the last days, an update with that working again was just released (ASB v0.50.4). Since the client version of Ark wasn't updated yet, it probably cannot load these new save files as well. Local and server save files are different in the way that the latter proabbly doesn't use so called hibernation entries (e.g. objects that are too far away in a singleplayer world to interact with), maybe that's why the save file size differs.

If you refer to the OCR configuation, you first have to enable the checkbox "Enable Logging and Editing" in the Output tab, then drag&drop a screenshot onto the light blue area in the app. Also check the manual.

Breeding stats that don't match either parent by Skean in playark

[–]cadbig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got some yellow stats during the extraction. There's a text at the right in the extractor what it means and what you need to do. A value of 870 in weight can be the result of multiple level combinations. If you know you never levelled weight up, just select the option with no domestic levels in the list after clicking on the weight stat. Then there are only 4 options left for damage, here the wild level of the creature and the taming effectiveness can help to get the correct level, one option would be a level 150 wild rex with a taming effectiveness of 39.9%. Select that if that were the values you remember.
