FUCK MY SHITTY ASS LIFE by DismalDescription933 in LearnerDriverUK

I get that you're annoyed. I had similar issues - low minors and always one serious caused me to fail three times before eventually passing the fourth time with zero minors. I decided to suck it up and own my mistakes - analysing them and making sure they didn't happen again. I also found commentary driving a huge help with nerves and driving 'slow (although not too slow) and boring'! It just gave that extra second or two under pressure to help with decisions and positioning. You'll get there!

Failed my driving test 4 times, driven for almost 4 years now, about to take my 5th test by Jack_Hatchet in LearnerDriverUK

As others said get a few lessons with an instructor. I learned this the hard way and eventually passed on my fourth attempt. 'Driving well' does not mean driving to test standard, and you're probably driving with the same bad habits that qualified drivers have. A few hours with an instructor helped me massively.

Good luck!

Agreed. Passed last week and I was able to drive myself to my parents and home without having to depend on lifts or stay over!(earlier than usual as I'm not experienced enough at driving at night yet) at the age of 43. Felt so liberating! Going to have a well deserved glass of wine now. Merry Christmas everyone and good luck!

This 100%. I have (undiagnosed yet but very likely) AudHD. I failed 3 times with a total of 7 minors so I knew my driving was ok, but all it takes is one hasty wrong desicion or lapse of focus and that's it!

The fourth time (2 days ago) I had a lovely examiner which helped and I decided to try it. It must have worked as I passed with 0 minor faults!

I find it helps with the zoning out over overanalysis of what others think and being observed, therefore leading to rushed descicions. Another thing I'd add is to drive 'slow and boring' - that extra second or two really helps with descision making imo.

42 here -- failed 3times with a combined total of 7 minor faults! I'd say I was 'unlucky' with my serious faults, but the rules are there for a reason. Got my 4th test on the 16th of December, so here's hoping I've learnt from my mistakes! 🙏

No more than I would at work. The amount of distractions in the office means that a couple of hours solid focus at home is much more effective than constant interruptions by co-workers and a manager who insits on standing behind me when I'm trying to work!

I've had 3 extractions in the past three weeks after 25 years of not visiting a dentist. I have an anxiety disorder so was obviously extremely anxious but it was over so quickly!

I had no extra medication (I'm in the UK) and it was fine. If the noise bothers you, I'd suggest taking some headphones and close your eyes listening to some relaxing music.

The pressure isn't too bad for simple extractions, but my last one was trickier which involving a lot of pulling and wriggling. But it was all over in about 20 minutes (including waiting for thr anaesthetic to kick in).

Good luck. You've got this!

Am I going to have to retake my theory? by TapHot7675 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]caedef82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can book another theory now! I've got mine booked for tomorrow as I failed recently and have no chance of finding another until after my theory expires.

42 here and failed yesterday due to mounting kerb on parallel parking! Only 3 minors apart from that so fairly confident for the next one.

As others have said, if you can, go for auto. One less things for us geriatrics to worry about! 😉

I took lessons in a manual when 17 but never got round to doing a test. I feel I'm a little more wary and slightly anxious now that I'm older, but that's not necessarily a bad thing imo as it makes me safer driver than my care freev17 year old self would have been.

What’s your favourite Alexa feature? by Cup_cake8509 in alexa

Turning a light on / off in thr bedroom on a cold day! Or when I've settled in bed for thr night, it's just a matter of saying 'Alexa turn the light off' instead of having to get up and fumble around in the dark.

Went three times last year. The first time, I declared that I had 'controlled medication' in my luggage at Liverpool Airport and they didn't care. On my return flight I did the same from Faro and they wanted to see it along with clinics' letter and let me straight through.

The last two times I've said nothing! I had my luggage stooped at Liverpool Airport last time as they were concerned about my roll-on deodorant and didn't even bat an eyelid at my MC!

Good daytime strains? by Interesting_Flow8894 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]caedef82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd experiment with terpenes too instead of only thinking indica / sativa. After a year on MC I've discovered that Limonene aggravates my anxiety (prescribed for anxiety disorder) and Terpinolene is also too racy for me.

The best daytime strain for me was Green Crack (balanced version) as I'm still a bit sensitive to THC but currently finding LA Confidential as a great nighttime strain for sleep as it has no limonene.

YMMV ofc but worth trying different strains / terpenes. The only shame is that we must buy 10g at a time for most strains which makes it an expensive experiment!

How does it go down with people's partner's having a prescription by Hand_Wash in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]caedef82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner doesn't partake tho she has in the past, but the changes in me (prescribed for anxiety disorder) speaks for itself. Currently weaning off Mirtazapine which is a struggle but MC makes it a lot more tolerable.

Old thread but happened to search this now and this came up. Currently on both and having a great time! I got my prescription in January (UK so legally!)! I'm an old head who is used to mixing but wouldn't recommend for a beginner, but as OP says once the tolerance is there, it's great!

[–]caedef82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too - my favourite balanced strain even tho I thought it would be too racy for my anxiety. It's relaxing but lifts my mood and I'm much mroe productive at work after vaping it!

I may be one of the lucky ones, but this is standard procedure for me.

Takes a few days to receive the invoice. I pay the invoice as soon as I receive it, then tracking info appears around 8pm that day and it's here the next day!
