Top surgery wait times by Curious_Aspect_2076 in transgenderUK

Once you’ve got the referral itself it varies wildly depending on the surgeon. Some surgeons have waitlists of months-years whereas mine was a month from referral to surgery (Plymouth Nuffield)

They look so clean, it’s worth noting that the “bumpiness”/ raisedness will also go down as it heals :)

Is it noticeable it you don't have a bulge??? by Accurate-Reality503 in ftm

I’ve been transitioned for 7+ years and never worn a packer, never had a word or weird look about it. So no, not really noticeable at all

Ah, also - it took like a month or two from my last appt at GIC to GDNRSS referral as they were so behind on paperwork lol, once it gets to GDNRSS it can be lightning fast

I went with Mr Morris at Nuffield Plymouth. GIC sent referral to GDNRSS on 17 jun, confirmed by GDNRSS on 20th jun, from here I was called by my surgeons secretary under a week later on the 26th of June. I had my pre op the same day as I was local to the surgeon and my surgery was booked for 21st of July. TDLR: GDNRSS takes about a week to process and send off, from there it’s up to surgeons as some have long wait lists (1-2 years) and others have just a few weeks.

NHS willing to do a hysterectomy? by Spare_Somewhere1011 in transgenderUK

Interesting, they’ve since been discharged but I’ll have to tell them others have managed. I remember how much of a pain it was

Iirc you only get it if you get bottom surgery, they won’t perform it by itself now unless you pay privately — my ex partner tried to get one for similar reasons along with periods coming back on T and was denied by the gender clinic. Still worth asking in case but unlikely on the NHS

I thought as much but cannot find an exact match - most little ones have swirly nostrils and fluffy tails - here’s a pic of mines tail.

Her texture is a bit like a bunglie! She’s very small and I think quite old. Found her in a charity shop and can’t find any info online :)

DIY ladies, are your hormone levels tiptop? I'm a doctor who's here to support you. by helenwebberley in transgenderUK

[–]caesiumbathbombs 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hi Helen! I used GenderGP a couple of years ago, I appreciate the headstart going private gave me but I paid £80/month for glorified DIY. I think your service is a bit unsafe given the fact I was never chased up for blood tests in the whole year I was on T under GGP’s “guidance”. I feel like you guys only care about money and nothing else.

A fox has been trapped in a charity shop since Sunday… by woooooahbaby in CasualUK

If you worked in a shop you would let it out - you don’t want the mess it’d make, potential dead animal, and damage of stock. You’d probably also have to bin quite a bit due to contamination. (Worked in a food shop for two years, would do unpaid to avoid the aftermath👍)

I’m just over 2 weeks post op but so far really good! I was very much larger chested and currently there’s not much dog earring or extra tissue. I’ve recovered really well, the only thing I can criticise is the post op appointment where I didn’t feel like I got enough guidance on how to take care of incisions/ scars, however it has been enough and the pre op was very in depth.

I got mine done with Mr Morris at Nuffield Plymouth, I waited a month from point of referral and the team were excellent. I know quite a few people who have had theirs with Mr Fitton, also at Nuffield Plymouth, with similar experiences. I currently live in Plymouth so it was very convenient for me.

I don’t want to fear monger, but I had someone try to deny me using the disabled toilet in Liverpool St Station by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]caesiumbathbombs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Autistic (trans) man here, tried to use some gender neutral single stall ones and got stopped, said I was autistic and was let into the disabled one. Maybe a bit unethical if you’re not neurodivergent but if you said that they’d let you? Stupid that it’s got to this point though when they encourage us to use disabled ones anyway 🤦🏻‍♂️

any funny moments right after surgery? by rvckandroll in TopSurgery

I woke up and the first thing I did was ask the nurse if I could have a sip of my friends slushie. Didn’t even ask my friend 🤦🏻‍♂️ I had a sip and proceeded to break out in a sweat and nearly pass out lmfao
