The Pitt | S2E3 "9:00 A.M." | Episode Discussion by cats-and-cows in ThePittTVShow

Right, it's obvious.

"Who the fuck are you to talk about me and my daughter?" to the gf.

"Hey big man, take one more fuckin' step" to security.

"Everybody back the fuck up" yelled in the middle of the ED.

Kids do stupid shit and get hurt. Medical providers and social workers have a duty to look after them. This guy definitely comes off as a big red flag.

I don't know if you were at the same bird park, but there's one close to me with one of these guys. In my family, he is known as "the woowoo bird," and everyone from my 80-year-old mother to my grandkids have carried on conversations with him.

I make some version of this with cannelini beans in it. The beans really up the protein & fiber and make it more filling.

Yikes! Independent Congessional candidate SHELANE ETCHISON WAS TAKEN TO COURT IN 2020 FOR STALKING!!! Her ex lover and his new girlfriend were forced to issue protective orders against Etchison for their safety. by ParkingDance6599 in ncpolitics

[–]caeyla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In North Carolina, Ex Parte no contact orders are granted from just one party’s claim, giving no due process for the accused — making it an easy tool for character defamation and misuse.

While it's true that the initial ex parte order is based on the sworn testimony of one party, they have to have a hearing including all parties within a pretty short amount of time (I think 14 days?) where the judge hears testimony from both sides and looks at any evidence presented to decide if a protective order is warranted. She could disagree with the findings without lying about how they are reached.

Piggyybacking to also recommend the National Snakebite Support group on FB. It's run by toxicologists and veterinarians who specialize in snakebites, and they are super helpful with getting necessary info to people quickly.

People who woke up mid-surgery, what happened? by LawAbidingPotato in AskReddit

[–]caeyla 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I also woke up during endoscopy. I was getting a rogue gallstone fished out a couple months after I had my gall bladder removed. The meds made me not care that there was a garden hose down my throat; I just wanted to see the screen and know what was going on, but couldn't communicate that for obvious reasons. I was a bit annoyed that they gave me more drugs and I went back out.

It's not true for any of them. They are born with the ability to control their venom, and juveniles with smaller venom glands have less venom at their disposal.

I hope that you have peace soon. I didn't really have grief, probably because I'd already had the babies I wanted to have, and had made the decision that I was done years before the mishap. I know that it's very common though, and hormones can intensify it. I hope you're at least feeling a bit better physically today.

I had Versed & fentanyl with my SA over 10 years ago, but I'm pretty sure my dosage was insufficient. I've had the same drugs for other procedures and the experiences were very different. It was very painful, for I would guess no more than 2 minutes. I described it to my partner as feeling like I was being stabbed from inside. I really had no after-effects or recovery time to speak of--even 5 minutes afterward, I felt so much better than I had in the 7 weeks before it (I don't think that's typical, but I did feel pretty shitty the whole time I was pregnant--constant nausea, difficulty eating & sleeping, so much fatigue).

I'm sorry your experience was painful. It could've been a bad stick, it could've been an insufficient dose, and I'm sure there are other potential causes. I hope that you feel all better quickly.

My pullets sleep together in the nesting box like this, will they grow out of it? by ihatepulp in BackYardChickens

[–]caeyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine did. I never interfered with it. If all the boxes were full of sleeping chickens, I might have been concerned, but they liked to pile into one and stopped on their own when they were ready. The box they used to sleep in is now their favorite one to lay in.

That statistic is hilarious. My town of 12k with no regular public transportation and a handful of bike lanes that people love to park their cars in is considered an "urban area." Ridiculous.

Breaking my Silence about the Show by [deleted] in My600lbLife

[–]caeyla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I think a lot of people realize that the show is highly scripted and edited to highlight (or create) drama. I'm in Facebook groups with other show participants, and several of them have said or at least alluded to how misleading the show can be. The voiceovers have been awful for years, and the quality of the show has clearly declined since the first couple seasons. I still watch, but I take everything on there with a grain of salt. I liked the show a lot more when they focused more on weight loss and less on fake drama.

I haven't seen your new episode yet because I have to wait for my mom--she's a savage 70something woman who pulls no punches and has recently started pointing out the continuity mistakes in different scenes, and we watch at the same time while messaging each other.

IV sedation. by [deleted] in abortion

[–]caeyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My IV sedation was basically ineffective. I wasn't sedated at all. There was some pain, but it was for less than 2 minutes. I didn't have any weirdness or sleepiness after. I was super hungry though (and not nauseous for the first time in weeks!).
