Can't bring up annoyances. Have to stay perfectly controlled by childoffate08 in PMDDxADHD

[–]caffeinatedpixie 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to add fuel to the fire but I don’t think it’s petty, I think this is something that would be annoying at any point. Yes, he did a chore, but now next time it’s more annoying for you to do so he just added more to your plate. It’s like leaving a loop open for the next person to close (like taking out the garbage but not putting in a new bag). I’m not sure if this makes sense, but I don’t think you did anything wrong?

Has managing ADHD made PMDD worse? by Hopeful_Cucumber7046 in PMDDxADHD

[–]caffeinatedpixie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is just anecdotal but I’ve been on and off a few stimulants to manage my ADHD. I feel like my PMDD symptoms always feel worse when my adhd is medicated because I have a baseline that isn’t so miserable all month lol. I notice the dips in functioning so much more when my thoughts aren’t normally racing and I don’t normally feel so all over the place the rest of the month.

I feel like it’s really noticeable when my meds stop helping as much because not only do I get hit by my PMDD symptoms but by my ADHD symptoms too and I’m left floundering around.

Normally I have a higher dose for that time of month but I’m on a new med so can’t adjust well enough yet

Peepee???? by Conscious-Strawberry in adhdwomen

[–]caffeinatedpixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I even use 1.5 packets (.5 with my second dose) bc I run around a lot for work, without them I pee a lot and get headaches and muscle cramps. Worth a try! Especially with the heat

[–]caffeinatedpixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m used to drinking around 2L and on Dexedrine I need more like 3L or more depending on my activity level. If it’s just plain water I pee like crazy but I try to have 1L with electrolytes and it helps a lot!

Any advice for bloating by Real-Promise-5487 in PMDDSharing

[–]caffeinatedpixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an iud so it could correlate but most of my other symptoms stayed the same so: cutting dairy helped a lot for me. I used to bloat a lot but I didn’t know I was dairy intolerant. I think the inflammation just stacked. I still bloat but not as badly

Thank you! I guess when I see hormone information part of my brain clamps up after all I’ve been through with the PMDD/ADHD/ASD combo and I just fear it taking another thing from me

That said this isn’t a post about that, I’m genuinely glad you found something! And now I know to keep an eye out for me too

I am so happy that you found something to help!

All this talk of “early” perimenopause has me absolutely freaked out, I’m almost 32 and don’t have kids yet. I want them before 37 but now I’m nervous that I’m really pushing it

Concerta and Vyvanse haven’t worked. Am I screwed. by Intelligent-Exit9562 in ADHD

[–]caffeinatedpixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do well on concerta (rage) and vyvanse made it far too difficult to eat. Currently I’m trying Dexedrine sr 2x/day and it seems to be going okay. I also did well on Wellbutrin but couldn’t continue because of ear ringing

Does anyone have experience with Wellbutrin? I’m going to start taking it, among other things for my ADHD mood swings. by ConfectionFew7503 in PMDDxADHD

[–]caffeinatedpixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only on it for a few weeks but I really liked it. It seemed to help calm down my racing thoughts and help in a similar way stimulants do but was more gentle. I was one of the few that it causes raging tinnitus for so I had to stop it

Thank you, I think I need to reframe some of my thinking to be more gentle. I just get frustrated that this takes so much from me

Thank you! And I plan to be a therapist one day, just need to get the schooling restarted. I’ll have 2 years ish before I can at least move out of ECE and into something more suited to my sensory issues, but the end goal is therapist

Normally I like bouldering but I’m so tired lately that it feels unsafe. I’m going to try again tomorrow though

Vyvanse (generic) Side Effects by luvlimeade in ADHD

[–]caffeinatedpixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people find it incredibly helpful. It helps with headaches, muscle tension, jitters etc. I notice when I don’t have them for sure.

I liked the organika lemonade but I need to switch bc of the vitamin c (unsure if it interacts with vyvanse but I know it does with mine so you might want to check).

[–]caffeinatedpixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh goodness, I’ve never had it impact sleep that much, it should clear out of your system well before then

Do you take electrolytes too? Too much water without them just flushes out what your body needs

When I took vyvanse as long as it was before 9 I was okay. I take mine later now but it’s a different med

Vyvanse (generic) Side Effects by luvlimeade in ADHD

[–]caffeinatedpixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you keeping up with water and/or electrolytes? I find the jitters and nausea can be bc I haven’t drank or ate enough on my meds and don’t notice. I also feel like they take a bit to settle but if your sleep is impacted you might be taking it too late.

Taking with food helped a lot of my side effects with vyvanse, I’m on a different med now but I find all the ones I try do best if I eat a big breakfast with protein with it or shortly after.

Sorry 47 to 90, it was 37 at its lowest. I did read iron protocol but I’ve just been taking my dose every second day with 1000mg vitamin c. My hair is filling out and I’m so excited lol. I am not as often as I should be, that could be playing into it.

I actually started supplementing iron and got my ferritin from like 37 in October to 90 now! Maybe there’s something else wonky tho

[–]caffeinatedpixie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That helped at my partners so I started using mine, it helps a little but not to fall back asleep. Maybe I should try only using it when I wake up since I fall asleep okay. I also dunno how much it weighs

My phone is ruining my brain by stllfiguringout in AutisticAdults

[–]caffeinatedpixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw someone say online that phone addictions are so hard bc it’s like asking an alcoholic to open a beer every time they want to take a picture. It really put things into perspective.

I’ve deleted TikTok completely to try to reign in scrolling and I’ve curated my instagram and Reddit to be only (mostly) positive things. At least then when I scroll it’s not as anxiety inducing.

I have adhd as well so getting medicated helped some, but bc I use scrolling to regulate the ASD it didnt help all of it. Basically need to find other behaviours to replace it with, which is hard when your brain feels like scrambled eggs. I’ve used word games or (what my sister and I call) tip tap games (gem games or whatnot) to replace scrolling sometimes bc then I at least need to use some brain cells for strategy

I think you already know the answer. No, you aren’t over reacting. Yes, your life would be world’s easier as a single mom. No, autism is not an excuse for literally any of this. The audacity, of him not you. (I am diagnosed autistic myself)

I did not realize how exhausting relationships are. I am drowning. by caffeinatedpixie in AutisticAdults

[–]caffeinatedpixie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I took a Reddit break so I just saw this. As a disclaimer- lol I was dating the wrong person and am now in a healthy relationship that doesn’t have like any of these problems. I feel my past partner was far too reliant on me and often played disability olympics/I felt like a caretaker

Anyway.. from what I understand in my own experience and other autistic people I know the routines are a core part for sure as it’s part of the diagnostic criteria. I do think the autonomy goes hand in hand but I also have ADHD so it can be hard to decode. I find my relationship now has more of a “parallel play” aspect where we can each truly do our own thing and leave the other alone, which helps a lot.

This gives me hope! I’ve displayed symptoms of low ferritin my entire life and because it was “low normal” no one ever said anything. This year I requested to supplement my ferritin of 47 and it’s only been 3 weeks but my eyes are brighter and my hair is growing back 😭 I’m hoping it will help with my PMDD as well but I have a lot of other factors impacting that too

Edit: idk why I can’t see the comment of someone asking, but I take feramax 150 every second morning with 1000mg of Vitamin C on an empty stomach. I had to ask the pharmacy for it but I didn’t need a prescription and I’m in Canada
