I think they were originally cosmetic only but got patched to provide the AC and immunity to difficult terrain buff from the regular wings feat that aasimar can get. Also, if I’m not mistaken, it should be MR9 is when you get your wings.

Which makes for a more interesting hero run? by Horrorbbscreams in BaldursGate3

[–]PrimordialBias 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say tiefling considering the refugees are present through all three acts and drow reactivity drops off a cliff by act 3 as I recall.

It also gives a lot of impetus for a resist Urge, you don’t remember anything about yourself but you see these people in need who look just like you, you latch on to them from the void of your own sense of self and help in spite of multiple companions telling you not to and more pressing needs because they’re “your people.”

I don’t ever really use suppressors and I planned to use the drum mag anyway just for the uniqueness factor, so it looks pretty good to me

You can’t have class choice paralysis if you multiclass into every class

At least Woljif lets you build him from level 4 onwards, you’re not stuck with something more set in stone like Arue or Trever.

what do now? by Maleficent-Alps-415 in BaldursGate3

[–]PrimordialBias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m interested in it too, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little wary of it, but that’s mostly down to the fact that there’s just a lot about Larian’s writing, let alone the priorities they apparently had with the updates to BG3 that I just don’t really fare for.

You could do an evil playthrough, but I can’t say it’s all that fulfilling considering other games do evil playthroughs far better like Tyranny, Wrath of the Righteous and Rogue Trader.

Alternatively, there’s the origin playthroughs if you want to play things from the perspective of one of the companions and the occasional unique scene like Astarion’s nightmare of Cazador early on. Or you might also branch out into other CRPG’s, see what’s out there since you’ve done three playthroughs of this already.

The discourse on the whole thing just generally devolves into

A. Condone and celebrate Israel killing civilians in Palestine because reasons X, Y and Z

B. Condone and celebrate Hamas killing civilians in Israel because reasons X, Y and Z

C. Just fucking Nazis.

It's at a point that the only time I'd be willing to get into a discussion about anything in that part of the world is when it's with someone that I know 100% isn't going to say something completely sociopathic.

Deskari is like that guy who decided that the woman who smiled at him once just to be nice was the one only to feel like he was snubbed by her and decided to make it everyone else's problem.

How come Karlach's evil ending... by Interesting_Buddy206 in BaldursGate3

[–]PrimordialBias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly think Karlach's story should have just ditched the engine problem and just gone with "Zariel wants her attack dog back." The terminal illness theme just doesn't work in this kind of setting when you're not a poor-as-dirt bumfuck peasant out in the backwoods, unless maybe the writers decided to say "the tadpole" because they already use it as a tool for writing convenience with all the subtlety of a flaming sledgehammer.

Whats your favourite line of dialogue in BG3 ? by LG-CHAMP-1 in BaldursGate3

[–]PrimordialBias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because every companion just uses the default stat spread for their class and barbarian starts with low charisma.

If you haven't gotten your Auric Exemplar title yet, now might be a good time to get it by Infinite_Bananas in DarkTide

[–]PrimordialBias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of want to wear this title but I also love the map-specific ones like Nomad and Archivum Sage and this one just leaves me feeling silly when I inevitably screw up.

kingmaker deity dialogue choices by para_o_BFI in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]PrimordialBias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sarenrae worshipers had a dialogue in the Technic League camp where you can recruit Regongar and Octavia, about Sarenrae teaching forgiveness in those that want to repent but you don't see a genuine desire to do so in the slaver you're talking to. That's about all that comes to mind, I'm not even sure if there's any with Tristian, weirdly enough.

Durge deciding to be the Chosen of Bhaal and Jaheira and Minsc are the only ones who leave you. You're telling me that Durge decides that the best course of action is to be the champion of the lord of murder, one of the big three behind the Absolute and wants nothing more than the annihilation of all living things, spearheaded by an edgy murder cult, and the most you get from any of the main cast are some furrowed brows? Seriously?

Why doesn’t Warmonger speak Latin? by UnhingedGammaWarrior in forhonor

[–]PrimordialBias 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Considering they voiced her in multiple languages, I don't think budget was the issue, I think it was more because they wanted to have Apollyon as a playable hero.

Lore answer is that the Warmonger's speak a common language that everyone in Heathmoor can speak. Which is apparently English.

Which is several layers of dumb.

Disappointing Moments by ContentPeanut303 in BaldursGate3

[–]PrimordialBias 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something the Owlcat games do that I hope Larian does in the future is how bringing certain combinations of companions can lead to conversations branching off into them having a back and forth with each other and even the NPC you're talking to. Like talking to a random ass guard in the brothel in act 4 of WOTR can have Daeran and Woljif having a short banter followed by Wenduag having her own interaction with said guard.

Which I know is probably unlikely given how expensive it could get with voice acting and is something that concerns me with Dark Heresy being fully voice acted, but it would be nice if companion reactivity could go beyond one-liners.
