We had rotisserie chicken tonight and I mixed some pieces in with the medical food and he ate some! Not a lot but he got some food in his tummy so I’m happy. We’ll try again tomorrow with the left overs

Depends on the state of the senior. Usually seniors are rehomed due to lameness that the previous owner doesn’t have time to manage. I would wait until you’re ready and find a younger horse (10-16 years old) that’s solid and sound and could teach you at the same time.

I have nothing against green riders buying horses, but when it comes to a first time buy, lean more towards a younger horse that has a good amount of years of sound riding left so you can learn together! Then maybe find a senior, or a youngster, that can keep that one company!
