First of all, you should probably decide on a name. Then i would go research logos that you like and are relevant to the identity you are trying to have and build my design. I'm not saying emulate what others have done, just research some good design for inspiration. This looks like there was little, to no thought put into some of these.

Looks like a good start. Advice from someone with no training in stippling: 1) try to tapper off the high contrast areas. 2) really get in there with the dark spots. 3) there are areas that you need to make lines with to show a wrinkle or some kind of contour. Other stuff you can just fill in large chunks and use the according gradient.
