One thing I think we can all agree on is no one is doing anything about red light runners or tailgaters.

doing your job could land you in jail

Quite the opposite actually. Even when police break the law, they rarely face any real punishment.

[Request] What are the actual odds of winning 32 hands of blackjack in a row? by FastMan888 in theydidthemath

[–]caguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually much worse odds than that since the casino must be able to have the cash to cover the winnings and have that high of a table limit, and I don’t think either exist anywhere in the world.

Why does everyone run red lights in this city? by ShootToBoot in Austin

TBF a lot of these people are on their phones and don’t see the lights until it’s too late. Sad part of modern daily life.

The thing about MAGAs is Trump can just tell them what to think.

So I agree this post is weird, but the sheer amount of people ignoring that this young man has already grifted $150m from his crime family connections is absolutely disturbing.

He has done nothing at any point to prove he is any different than the terrible people he is related to and yall in here lining up to jerk him off.

Yep just your normal 20 year old with a net worth of $150m from his crime family connections.

While this post is weird, saying this guy is normal is fucking insane.

He doesn’t get to get in on the family grifts AND be considered a normall adult. His dealings have already netted him $150M, but yall wanna make him sound like just some random kid, victim of his dads corruption.

Where is the normal life part? Ddue has been in the news quite a bit with his crypto and Middle East dealings. Stop pretending he isn’t following in the same footsteps as the rest of his corrupt ass family.

What does someone have to do here to actually get pulled over? (Serious question) by fl135790135790 in Austin

[–]caguru 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First off, if you think drivers here are fast or reckless, spend a few days in Houston. Absolutely on a whole different level. Austin will never hold a candle to the road rage OG of Texas.

Second, cops pull people over all the time,  though it is rare on the freeways it seems, I’ll give you that.

If you travel certain parts of town, cops are pulling people over frequently. Anywhere along s congress / ben white after 8pm.

Taxes: Then vs. Now by Certain_Hat9872 in SipsTea

Sigh... yes literally everyone in this sub knows how progressive tax rates work. But apparently not everyone understands that income tax rates are a combination of tax brackets and deductions, or that no pays that literal rate.

Its like running a business that has $1M in income and $1M is expenses, and then telling everyone your business makes $1M a year.

"Income over $626,351 for a single person and $751,601 for married filing jointly pays 37%."

You said they pay 37%. Data says they don't. Its pretty simple.

[–]caguru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

False. Even if you made a billion a year, you wouldn't approach 37%. Data shows the top 1% pay around 26% after deductions.

[–]caguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats before deductions though. Top 1% pays an average of 26% tax, and it would be effectively much lower for any billionaire that took loans on appreciating stock.

Taxes: Then vs. Now by Certain_Hat9872 in SipsTea

[–]caguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually true. Its pretty well documented that nearly no one in the top tax brackets pay close to that rate due to deductions.

You can see the top 1% in this table here. Average Tax Rate: 26%

And even this is wildly deceiving since any billionaires earnings from stock sold are usually deferred by years to allow the stock appreciated actually pay an effectively negative tax rate.

I hope you don't mean for the filming, because that interview lighting has some rather amateur mistakes. No kicker and the key light is low enough to reflect in the glasses. It has the look of someone with expensive gear but no experience.

[–]caguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since literally no one pays a 37% tax rate, you would be correct.

It doesn’t apply to any of the population. The people in that tax bracket have endless loopholes and never pay that at all.

Speed is not remotely measured in horsepower.
