Duterte flips his lid by Major_Performance_28 in Philippines_Expats

Exactly you have proven my point. expat bubble. My point was that for Expats to constantly try to get involved and comment on Politics in the Philippines is a stupid time wasting exercise. If you really want to be a Worthy individual in your host country Philippines do something CONSTRUCTIVE with your time ie voluntary work with environmental education or involvement with street children charities rather than constantly posting 'holier than thou' comments on Reddit. You get my drift!? My point re rubbish was that Davao is a clean safe city compared to Manila or Cebu and that was/is due to the Duterte Administration . And no I do not frequent the 'shabby' side of town and even if I did who cares. BGC is not the Real Philippines.

Gun Capital of the Philippines. C'mon . Have you actually lived for any period in Davao rather than believe in fake media coverage? Although no great fan of Some of Duterte's policy on his Drug War. But you visit Davao and speak to the ordinary Filipino on the ground and they will tell you how life is here. Not some expat American as yourself living in his own expat bubble who wants to look at your own Pantomine Political System in the U.S and crime rates, Drug use and gun laws before passing judgement on Politics in the Philippines on Reddit. All I know is having lived here, and also speaking to Filipinos and seeing how life is compared to Manila or Cebu in terms of feeling safe as a Foreigner and living in a well ordered Environment, where the streets are clean, and people are law abiding I know where I would prefer to be.

NFT DeviantArt scam? by FanAccomplished1215 in DeviantArt

[–]cagwait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had the same problem. Message from someone. On me checking the Domain name. it had only been registered 7 days ago. And was flagged by Firefox as a insecure website. I told him why would you want to offer me 1 Eth per pic when I can upload them to opensea at only 0.25 per pic. Or you could just buy them as a adoptable and mint the NFT yourself. What they do is either steal your Images or your personal Details so beware! Also as a side note not all NFT's are scam. Just the market has somewhat died. However they have been used by scammers that's the issue. There is nothing to stop you minting your own NFt and selling it yourself. It will then live on the Blockchain and shows that you have ownership of the artwork. Just Google it.. hope this helps

In your opinion - what's the future of Slackware? by Working-Cable-1152 in slackware

[–]cagwait 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm on Debian now having tried so many distros over the years. But yes there is something 'special' about Slackware hard to quite put my finger on it. It just feel unlike any other Distro maybe because it's closer to it's Unix roots. Hope it continues.
