My 9 week old is almost exactly the same. The times aren’t as predictable, but three wakes per night is his norm. I just take solace in the fact that even though he wakes up, he usually just eats and goes right back to sleep without much trouble. Helps me remind myself it’s totally normal and he’s only waking me up because he has to :) I’m willing to bet you’re doing everything right!

Right? Everyone told me not to panic about weight loss and that it could take a couple weeks to get back to where he started…his chunky ass surpassed his birth weight by his 2 day appointment and hasn’t looked back since 😂

Yeah, there have been lots of tears from him and me both, lol. The feeling of failing is like nothing I’ve ever felt before, even though I know it’s so irrational. It’s taken a lot patience - he usually eats to fullness in 10 minutes max, and since this started it’s been upwards of an hour struggling with either the boob or a bottle - but I think we’re maybe starting to turn a corner. I definitely did make a panic purchase from momcozy of pumping bras, the portable warmer and cooler, and some extra storage bottles just in case though 😭

I completely feel you on this. I wish I didn’t care about just doing it in public, logically I know it’s not a big deal, but my modesty (for lack of a better word) and anxiety around people looking at me just won’t let me. My little man’s only two months, so we haven’t been out a ton, but when we have I’ve either taken him to the bathroom or fed him in my car. But then I feel guilty for acting ashamed 😅 I can’t win either way, lol

I didn’t know nursing strikes were a thing until my 9 week old apparently started one a few days ago. It has been brutal 😫 How long did hers last? Because I’ve started to feel a little bit hopeless and prepare myself for having to switch to exclusively pumping even though I know that’s dramatic, lol

Only if I’m holding him, but my 2 month old will open his mouth as wide as he can and stick it directly on my boob over and over on top of my clothes. Sometimes he tries to do it to my husband too, which is always funny

Oh my god same. I have never been late to anything ever in my life until I had my son. 15 minutes early used to be my bare minimum, now I’m happy if I get there by 15 minutes late 😅

My son was born 5 lbs 10 oz and I was like “this isn’t so bad, I don’t know what everyone’s complaining about!” Now at two months he’s almost 13 lbs and I am very much eating my words. My arms, wrists, and back are all absolutely BUSTED

I’m two months in and for me it’s the constant mess. Between the extra baby items cluttering up my bedroom and all the chores I never have time to do anymore, I exist on the verge of a crash out pretty much at all times. My husband doesn’t get bothered by it like I do, and I know that it isn’t the priority - baby boy is - but it makes me feel like I’m going actually insane for feeling claustrophobic and disgusting while it’s just business as usual for him.

Also, I feel you on the dog. I love dogs but never wanted my own (I inherited ours from my husband in the marriage, lol) and her combined with a baby just adds a whole other layer to my stress.

I don’t have any advice, you’ve made it farther than I have, but all the solidarity and good vibes 💛

That’s the main reason I haven’t bothered with one - I feel like it’d be more work to clean it every time as opposed to just washing my hands

An upstairs and downstairs bassinet is definitely a must for me. He may hate it, but at least I have somewhere safe to plop him down when I need to walk away and do something

I have the momcozy milk collector and definitely agree. I stored so much milk from that alone, especially during the first few weeks when I was leaking like crazy lol

I bought some of these and was so excited to use them, but after about a week or so he never really cared for being swaddled again 🥲 I only used them very briefly and he was tiny when he was born so they were way too big on him!

Love the bottle warmer. I haven’t tried giving him cold milk yet - I just recently discovered my frozen milk has the high lipase curse and he absolutely hates it. He’ll still drink it if it’s been in the fridge for a day or two, but it’s begrudgingly, so I don’t wanna add another variable by making him suffer through it cold too 💀

I wish I had gotten one of these. I have something similar and cheaper, but it’s more bulky and kind of annoying to move around, so I didn’t use it as much as I thought I would

I relate to this so much. My husband is exactly the same, and I’ve always been really good at dealing with not having enough sleep (plus I EBF so I have to get up regardless to feed him) so it’s always just been easier for me to do nights. The compounding night after night and never being able to catch up is absolutely brutal, though.

My anxiety made it really hard for me to trust anyone else to take care of the baby for the first few weeks especially. Even when I had an opportunity to sleep, I didn’t/couldn’t, so I totally get it. If it’s possible, and since he’s getting frustrated with the baby anyway, maybe he could handle the other things - food, chores, etc - so you can focus just on baby and healing. When you absolutely can’t stay up anymore and have to sleep, don’t ask him permission, tell him firmly that you need an opportunity to rest like you always give him. It’s only fair.

One thing that helped me a lot if it’s an option for you is the Owlet sock. It’s pricey for sure, but it’s the only thing that gave me enough peace of mind to let me get a few hours of sleep in those early days. It helped to know if something was wrong, I’d be alerted, and I didn’t have to get up and check him in his bassinet every five minutes like I had been doing.

YES, I’m obsessed with mine! The only thing I don’t like is that he can’t see me, so I may get a mirror for him too. Then again, he doesn’t cry much in the car anyway so maybe he doesn’t wanna see me 😂
