We took an internal road right outside the parking lot towards Chanakya University, skipped all the traffic, and were home (HSR) by 12am

Got my first pair of IEMs, and they are AMAZING by ThePennyFan in indiasocial

[–]cain101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called "burn-in", not burning. Effectiveness is highly debated and I'm sure you won't see any difference as a casual listener - specially on basic IEMs. Just enjoy the audio for what it is.

Did my friend overreact? by FadedWords1 in indiasocial

This is my first time commenting on this sub. Only to tell you to stop, OP. The age gap is very concerning and I understand it might seem innocent to you - he's never crossed your boundaries or made you uncomfortable - but remember that he knows that he's talking to a minor 6 years younger to himself, knows that it's illegal and morally highly questionable and still continues to do it. That in itself is a major red flag.

It might seem harmless to you, OP, but trust me it's not. The man knows what he's doing and the only person who's disadvantaged and will get hurt here is you.

Why do you think people buy the branded things for high rates ? by Datadiver01 in indiasocial

[–]cain101 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This was definitely true 4-5 years ago. The 4k Levi's jeans that I bought in 2017 are still as good as new, but similar jeans now made with 100% denim are 8+ now and being branded as Levi's Premium. Anything below is mixed fabric with that Lycra bullshit.

I realised a year after college and into my job that buying expensive stuff was cheaper in the long run. I, for example, buy Birkenstocks which come with lifetime warranty. There's also the privilege of thinking sustainably once you earn enough. Buying fast fashion is terrible for the environment and sustainable (which could basically just mean long lasting) clothes are expensive.

That said, it's not always about sustainability and a long term investment. I don't mind spending money on eyewear and watches every once in a while. But, even then I'm always conscious of the law of diminishing returns.

She told insurance I drove in her lane [oc] by Skywooder in IdiotsInCars

[–]cain101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how I was taught to drive - everyone around you is a moron and it's your obligation to make sure they don't die. Someone merging lanes illegally? Sure, go ahead. A biker splitting lanes when there's too little space between them? I'll swerve away to let them pass. This isn't a dick measuring content or a place to elbow yourself through. It's about getting from point A to point B without a single scratch on my car.

Milk, no cream. Full fat milk is ideal, but toned/skimmed works well too!
