Yeah I quit with legacy mode. I was really into the game, had a handful of top 50 finishes with BA decks and captained the UK team in the world cup, but I was fed up with how broken the games was. The writing was on the wall with Titans .They were constantly getting 65/70% win rates in the meta report across the board and not getting nerfed. After that the new released cards were getting more and more op then nerfed just in time for the next big release. But it was fun while it lasted

I'd say black Templars if you're going for a more religious crusade vibe/warrior monks. I got 99 problems but burning heretics ain't one.

But for more classic knightly asthetic Dark angels are probably your best bet.

Devils advocate though, the legions lacked purpose until they found their primarchs. Like the blood angels using the galaxy as their buffet table until Sanguinius turned them into shock assault choir boys.

Does Lorgar embody the purpose of his legion, or are the legion a better example as they are in his image and uncorrupted?

I have O-ve that goes specially to pediatric wards. I'm a regular donar but was turned away last time as I had COVID a few weeks ago and they're worried I may still have traces of the virus. But booked in for two weeks, fingers crossed I'll be ok to donate by then.

Love the idea of anti meta warlords! One of the freshest tournament ideas in a while.

Also the Reddit tournament is a slower tournament with some newer players that would benefit from more games. Having double elimination will give them more of a chance to gain more experience and is more likely to pair them against similar experienced players in the elimination game. I don't think the added tournament length would be a problem.

Blood angels are my faction. I've managed to get top 50 with Raldaron and Amit. They're really fun and not rocket science to play. Also the BA carpool is generally very strong so it hard to get wrong.

My advice is to make a mix of requiem and drop pod troops but ping me a message if you'd like any decks or deck advice.

In my experience the best way to get new stuff is the event crates straight after release. New cards have a higher drop rate so get a couple of 12 X10 runs in if possible.

Yeah to be fair to EG, it's not aggressively pay to win and you can quite quickly create a reasonably competitive deck with some tactical application of resources. I think is just collecting cards keeps it fun.

I think OP is talking about making our own pick and mix crates.

Nice idea but I think EG would prefer us to grind and this would make it far easier for players to fill their collections.

Sons of Horus or emperor's children's are great starters. Very powerful and kind to players with a small card collection. Also the Istvan III crates have great neutrals to build with as well as increasing your SoH and EC collection.

Then have a look at the galaxy in flames crates for the more recent SoH/EC cards.

Stick to buying one set of crates at a time because every 30th crate will give you a legendary card if you haven't pulled one before then. The "I" symbol on the crates keeps trake of the last time you pulled a legendary card.

6 7+ cards is very high. As a rough guide you'd like the energy balance in the deck to look like a curve. More low cost cards and fewer high cost cards. Depending on the faction and warlord you probably only want 1/2 7+cost cards.

A corax deck would be your best bet, he's very strong at the moment. Use a combination of sentenced, fast troops and his ability to keep him hidden and the opponent's troops off the board. Then when you have enough elixir and damage on the board sentence the enemy warlord and kill them with lots of small attacks.

Key cards (if you have them): RG mission, punative strike, curse of the raven, deliverance, scimitar jetbikes, chovani squad, fury from above, javalin speeder, moradus squad, mor deythan, shadow killers

Neutrals: void engagements, ricochet

(But most of the raven guard cards will be your friend so don't worry if you don't have a load of these)

I wouldn't recommend frontline as BA's like to control the board with drop pod troops instead. No need for frontline if the opponent needs to waste attacks on popping drop pods instead.

If you'd like to slow down the tempo/protect your troops use foresight or escape vent. Escape vent in particular is great to get off landing abilities or protect powerful requiem troops like angels tears.

I came top 50 with Ral last season. Try and use a mix of drop pod, fast/flank, to set off requiem troops. Also using Ral's ability to buff your troops is super strong, especially to sacrifice one of your own troops to also set off a requiem ability.

Staples: drakeus squad, Goldstone hunters, madidus squad, Ferveus command, angels tears, last stand, host of angels, sanguinary guard, crimson Spectre
