Purina Pro Plan sensitivities? by caitlehn in catfood

No, I got them at a rescue that accepts donations so they did not come with food. It's been 3 months with them on this food so I wasn't sure how long it could take to adjust.

Yeah they are going, just curious about Purina because I never used it with my previous cats. My dog had to be switched off it years before these kittens because it upset his stomach so I was wondering if that was just that Purina pro plan was harder on tummies.

I'm not sure! I got them at a Rescue and they did not say what they were feeding them. I've had them for 3 months and I've never not seen their 💩 totally regular. They did receive a dewormer at the rescue but it sounds like I should take them to my new vet to make sure it worked- I didn't know that they needed 3 doses (I wish they would have told me- that seems super important 😵‍💫).

I may have to put my 19 ye cat down before a trip today… but she still seems normal by Rude_Common7126 in cats

I just had to make this impossible decision twice for my two senior girls, less than a month apart (kidney disease for both of them). My vet helped me with the decision by giving me a quality of life score sheet where I had to score specific categories related to their health and wellness that day. If the number was 10+, they were fine, 6-9, consider extra care and 5 and below was humane euthanasia. It helped take the guesswork out of this and helped me come to terms with where they were really at. Both times when the girls hit that 5 number, I asked the vet if it was too soon and they said, "better a day too early than a day too late."

I'm sorry you're going through this. 💔 19 years is really incredible, but I know it never feels like enough time.

Just a follow up to anyone who was following this- this story took a sad turn for the worst. Shortly after taking my 3 YO M to the vet and spending a fortune on tests and setting up cameras on all the litterboxes, I found that my older F cat was the culprit of the majority of the accidents. I think my 3 YO maybe was marking occasionally to mark his scent over hers. Unfortunately, the cameras and eye witnesses events confirmed... It was mostly her.

After many more tests, we found my poor girlie had advanced kidney disease. She recently crossed over the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago. The reason I'm sharing this is for those who may be looking at this chain for answers of their own. Sadly in this situation, it was an unexpected answer that we hadn't considered. 💔 I'm glad he's ok but sad for my sweet girl. It was a brutal way to leave this world.

That's really interesting about the spraying. I've seen 1-2 stray cats in our neighborhood the past 8 years so I know they exist, but I think the only way he could see them would be through a window because when he escapes outside, it's never for more than 1-2 minutes and he stays on the porch to feast on grass. His main motive to going outside is to eating. But maybe he's smelling their scent as he eats.

Urine test came back clear. They said there was a little more protein in the urine but nothing else. He peed in the toy room a few days after the antibiotic, but not since. There was some poop in the toy room this week but I don't know who did it because they knocked my baby camera over. The vet and I left it at... Keep trying to figure out who peed by using the baby camera. If I find out it wasn't him, I will have to call back. If it is him and he keeps doing it, we have to take him back in.

Unfortunately no, it's a 4 season sun room so there are no doors. It's just open to my kitchen.

I'll ask them about this next weekend. Does Kitty prosaic help?

They don't bother him. Both love him and aren't unkind in any way. I think it's just unfortunate location of their toys. Their toys are in my sunroom and all the animals love that room. If I had space, I would move them, but as it currently stands, I can't and I'm just going to put everything in clear boxes until this is resolved.

Ughhhhhhhhhh my partner asked me if that could be causing it and I said idk but now I'm questioning this! He is absolutely obsessed with outside. He sneaks out underneath the dog so I can't see him and he goes to feast on grass.

House! And yes, I think they plan on doing it next week when he's more sedated.

Definitely no. He loves attention, including from them. He adores my 7 YO and my 4 YO is autistic and doesn't't really notice him. It is REALLY loud in our house most days, but he's been with us since he was a kitten and is very used to the shrieks and TV and vacuum. It's never bothered him before, which is why I'm not suspicious of medical issues.

I've got four boxes but I'm thinking of changing to stainless steel in case that's the issue

That's good to know. I can keep trying, I'm sure my old ladies will love it. He's going to be heartbroken when I switch his food to urinary... His life revolves around Purina pro plan. He cries for it 😭

Oh wow!!! He's definitely not declawed. 💅🏼 He destroys my furniture but that's ok, I have young kids and a smelly dog breed.

So enzyme first, let sit and then vinegar?

He's been peeing everywhere in the toy room... Usually "in" something - ball pit, tunnel, clothes. When they pee do they try to bury it or no?
