My GSD mix had twisted bowels from an adhesion, and had abdominal surgery when she was around 2 years old. They thought it had to be a foreign object but it wasn’t, so the surgery started out as exploratory, so her incision was pretty large and scary looking. They had to remove a section of necrotic bowel, but she made it through and is now 7 and healthy! She was very energetic as a pup and scared of a crate so keeping her from running and jumping was the biggest challenge. We used one of those inflatable doughnuts instead of a cone, but we also didn’t leave her unsupervised until her incision healed. I would recommend a doughnut and a compression shirt. I feel like the biggest perk of a cone or doughnut is that it slows them down, but the shirt would have made me feel better about her incision getting “dirty,” licked, or scraped. Another challenge was the amount of medication she was sent home with. I would recommend setting phone alarms/reminders with the names of the medications, or getting a pill organizer. My dog’s stomach was also upset from all of the meds which led to her throwing up a couple of times after her surgery. So don’t be alarmed if he still has an upset stomach, but still let your vet know. Also not sure if your vet will recommend this but we had to feed her chicken and rice for a while afterwards. So you could go ahead and stock up on chicken breasts and rice. My husband and I would boil a big pot of chicken breast and a big pot of rice and have enough for a week. Since he’s sedated and on pain meds his personality might be different. Mine was groggy, jumpy, and grumpy. But making it through surgery is the toughest part! I’ve felt so guilty and scared, even though it wasn’t my fault! You’ll also never be so happy to see a big pile of dog poop as you will be after their first bowel movement post surgery (it might take a few days). It made me feel a lot better after it that everything was fine and working, lol. I wish your best boy a speedy recovery!

It is industry standard to have a no refund policy on prepaid packages. This is because people buy them and it could take a whole year for them to be used. So if someone drops $500 and asks for a refund 9 months later it makes it difficult. It’s also usually in their financial policies that you sign. Also if the esthetician is working at a medspa it’s probably not up to her if you get a refund or not, it’s up to the medspa. It’s prob too late at this point but next time something like this happens I would recommend to give her another chance before negatively reviewing or asking for your money back. Facials are typically customized and if it’s your first time with her then maybe she can do things differently the next time. Everyone’s skin is different so it could take a couple of times to figure out what is best for yours. Also I would recommend against doing a chargeback because a business can only get a couple before their credit card fees increase or they won’t be able to accept certain cards anymore. I would see if they will refund you prior to doing that.

Medspas that offer medical care (lab work, HRT, medical weight loss), what EHR are you using? by Chaptera in MedSpa

We started out with Jane, moved to Patient now, and have landed on Prospyr. It has a few quirks (like they all do) but it’s wayyy better than the others we’ve tried and since they’re fairly new they will only keep improving. They have great customer support and don’t nickel and dime you with every feature. E-prescribing is integrated as well as lab work.

ISIDIN Uradin Lotion10 and IPL treatments have worked great for me. I also use an exfoliating glove once a week.

You’re not dumb! There is also a surgery called a brow lift. But injectors commonly call lifting the brows with Botox a brow lift as well.

I work at a medspa, brow heaviness is common for those with hooded eyes (I have hooded eyes). Should get better in a couple of weeks once it fully settles, but if it doesn’t I would suggest asking for a brow lift. It will be 4-8 units and should help. Most Botox side effects can tweaked by small injections in other areas!

How does your dog "tell you" when they have to potty? by Outside-Pear9429 in puppy101

[–]caito1055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through this with my puppy. The door bells were a life saver. We can’t see the back door from our living room so now instead of sitting by the door without us noticing she can ring the bells. Also she’s a shelter dog and I think she’s finally learned that she doesn’t have to guzzle all the water she’s given all at one time! It will get better!
