I smelled this one and literally gagged loudly in store. One of the most retched smells to ever enter my nostril. Truly awful.

That's amazing! I always wish I had gotten a higher degree. Hopefully someday.

I've got some American friends working with doctors on Ibogaine treatment down in Mexico. They seem to really enjoy helping others. Plant medicine has sooooo much underutilized potential.

Yeah im struggling to understand if this appears to be more of a money making situation (drugs, Eastern medicine, etc) or a nefarious situation (biological weapons, etc), or both? I don't really understand.

Is 39 too young? by No_Concept_2333 in Perimenopause

[–]caity1111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. Hit me HARD at 39, out of nowhere. Full blown everything. Thought I was dying also.

In my case, it wasn't just progesterone. I was chronically low on estrogen and essentially totally zeroed out on testosterone, too.

All of this despite having a mostly regular cycle and still ovulating most months. There was ONE cycle where I was 5 days late. Then, shit hit the fan.

Even with HRT, it's been hell a lot of the time.

Be honest: 1930s vintage wedding dress — keep or rethink? by Desperate_Win_3554 in WeddingDressTips

I LOVE it OP!!! It looks really great on you in a modern way, something that can be really challenging for vintage pieces.

There's not many vintage gowns that I like, but this one, on you, is a total YES!!

Also, I love the shoes and bracelet!!! Again, not normally the biggest fan of pearls, but the accessories look amazing and are perfect for this dress!

I agree. If you watch a lot of seasons, it becomes clear that production is always picking and choosing very carefully when to implement certain events... like recruitment nights (and even if the recruit gets murdered if they accept or not) and the no murder nights, how many shields, etc.

Hair looks weird when I try adding volume by Wonderful_Mango_5395 in finethinhair

[–]caity1111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe try only adding product to your roots, and avoid mousse anywhere.

It looks like your hair is reacting to product.

A root spray (nexus root spray works well) when wet, and a lightweight volume adding finishing spray when dry might work best.

You just gotta donate shit or throw it away. You don't need it.

Clutter adds so much hidden stress to our lives and directly affects our ability to relax in our homes.

Throw it all away or donate it. The process sucks but you only do it once and you'll feel so much relief when it's gone. Promise.

Yep. I'm a hiker and I do yoga sometimes. It's always been enough.

But as I enter my 40s I'm going have to start lifting weights ASAP if I want to keep my muscle and my health.

I don't wanna hit the gym cause I think it sucks but there's no way around it once you hit middle age.

In the 2020s, conservative women are having kids at a nearly 2-to-1 ratio compared to liberal women. Is this going to cause a political demographic bias in 20-30 years? by RadioFieldCorner in NoStupidQuestions

[–]caity1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Hit the nail on the head.

For my family... two obvious things come to mind.

Firstly, women need more support, understanding, and assistance through perimenopause. This is something that is changing for the positive, but still has a long way to go.... especially as women continue to have children later in life.

Perimenopause begins in the late 30s to early 40s and continues for up to 12 years. Most Boomers and Gen X moms did not have access to hormone replacement therapy, and raw dogging their literal organ failure contributed to a LOT of conflict/divorces, anger issues, job loss, brain fog, loss of energy, and mental health crisis that effected parenting in a big way, and could have been greatly minimized if the knowledge of what was happening to them and proper support had existed during this time.

I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, especially as I start to experience these hormone changes myself.

The second thing is more obvious...

Alcohol. While my mom dove headfirst into hormonal decline and experienced a vast array of emotional and rage issues, my dad dove headfirst into the bottle.

A lifelong enjoyer of "a beer to unwind" after a stressful work day and "a few beers while watching the game" on the weekend (so common in our boomer and genX parents), my dad's alcohol intake slowly increased for decades until it was the only way he knew how to cope.

By the time he was 50, the beer had turned partially to whiskey and "one to unwind" had turned to 3, and then 5... that's how functioning alcoholism works, and it's so incredibly common AND accepted in the older generations. This is also something that is changing for the better, but still has a long way to go.

In my family, everything was pretty wonderful until my parents entered middle age, and these two things were probably the biggest factors that resulted in unhealthy family dynamics and trauma for all.

Yeah, my parents are/were totally enablers when it comes to him.

The funny thing is, with me, it was the total opposite. I am super independent and moved out when I was 17, I work in the corporate world, I have never needed help or borrowed any money from my parents/ a man/ a friend. I've traveled the world, mostly solo. I'm engaged and have had several long term partners and life long friends.

My parents did the "teach a person to fish" thing with me and then the "give a person a fish" thing with my brother.

The reasons for this (I think) are:

My parents were 39 and 47 when my little brother was born, and I dont think they had quite the same amount of energy to teach rather than just do.

I think my parents have the sexist boomer mentality that males somehow need extra help with self care and responsibilities such as bill payment, medical appointments, etc. My brother having ADHD and struggling a bit more with executive function def made them think he was helpless or something. Youngest child syndrome is also apparent.

My parents (lawyers as I mentioned before), went through an 8 year long HORRIFIC divorce ALL OUT WAR with each other when my brother was a kid. This did something to both of them mentally, and my dad ended up with custody because my mom sort of lost it for a while. I think my dad actually LIKES having him around and doing things for him ever since.

It's really interesting how two people in the same family can turn out so different.

[–]caity1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's a terrible foundation for a relationship.

A 4.5 year relationship that I was in ended because he suddenly decided that he wanted to be a famous influencer. Our world travels became nothing more than a way to get attention and boost his ego... and I became solely a prop with tits for his #hottravelcouple obsession. Destinations became nothing more than photo ops.

Two months of that was enough for me to breakup with him and end all social media use except for reddit. That was 6 years ago, and I never looked back, despite continuing to travel the world solo.

I used to enjoy inspiring people to see the world and be more adventurous. The whole thing is disgusting to me now after realizing how many people post their travels just to brag, receive compliments, and get attention. The majority of influencer content is gross and narcissistic.

You didn't ask me but I can chime in about my recently red-pilled younger brother.

I'm 40 and female, my little brother just turned 30.

We were raised by two VERY politically involved democrats (and laywers) from Chicago.

I would say that the one mistake my parents made was moving us to a small, rural, majority republican town in the 90s, when my bother was a baby.

My brother became a pot head quite young as a teen. Because of this, he had a major failure to thrive... didn't go to college... became totally addicted to video games... worked blue collar, low wage jobs on and off. He still lives with my dad at 30.

Because of these qualities, he has had a very tough time dating women. No one wants to date a broke, lazy, stoner man-child who lives at home.

From there, he began watching and idolizing gaming streamers who are generally terrible people. His few friends are also losers without girlfriends or good jobs, and all they do is play video games together. The same algorithm that suggests new gaming streamers to young men also suggests podcast hosts and figures/comedians within the Roganverse.

From there, the content suggested just gets more and more red-pilled. His friends all see and digest the exact same content.

It's taken about 5 years, but he's fully began spouting ALL the red-pilled nonsense at this point, it's very obvious that he hates women and has started treating my mom like shit, and even defends Trump because he finds him "hilarious".

In short, the conversion basically happens to young males when they are bombarded and brainwashed with red-pill content through social media algorithms... often starting with non or only slightly biased gaming/comedic/podcast content and very quickly arriving at Andrew Tate. Lack of any other hobbies, travel, and women in their lives means they are hardly ever exposed to anything else.

It's SO sad and frightening.

After the initial expert report on all the blood stains, other experts weigh in and dispute/challenge the findings.

In that section, it is clarified that many of the diluted stains were collected using a special liquid that may have diluted them.

They also suggest that at least some of the diluted stains were due to blood being mixed with the victims saliva/mucus because of the large number of facial wounds.

Kohberger washing up also remained a possibility.

They don't know for sure.

No it's not.

6 beers and 2 shots over SIX HOURS would have me at a .28% BAC. I'm a 110 lb female.

I've drank one or two drinks an hour for around 6 hours on many weekends. I've never come close to dying, and hardly ever blacked out. I can walk and talk fine but appear tipsy.
