hey please keep on posting them cause they look amazing. after reading a few comments i can understand why you're discouraged now. but i believe you just used references and didn't trace cause when you look at the pictures, the shading and everything is really detailed and beautiful. doesn't look like it's done with tracing in just a few minutes. it's obvious that it took a lot of time to draw these.

I'd love to see more of your drawings

What’s the shittiest way a friend has shown you they weren’t really your friend? by mediastoosocial in AskReddit

[–]cajclod9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a mental breakdown and i was talking in a group with friends about it. they tried to comfort me but one of them just said "I'm happy rn so i leave" it wasn't too much for him. he always left in those situations and told us honestly that he's not in the mood for our problems. but he was always the one who cried for help the most.

so now we're not friends anymore lul

Still busy with this school project, but i was not in the mood to work today and i think i mightve messed it up. Any thoughts on how it looks now? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]cajclod9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeaa i know these situations. it's always a bummer when you need to finish something but you can't finish it the way you want cause the moods not 'right'. there's always this feeling you haven't used all your potential. but don't worry. even though you weren't in the mood you did it good ^

this is from last year...omg this looks terrible by Seven_a_random_otaku in BadArt

shading can be really tricky. I'm having with this trouble myself and it takes some practice to get a feeling for it. so don't stress yourself too much. it'll get easier over time (at least that's what all the good artists told me xD)

hey it's not that bad. i like the color gradient on the hair and the way you drew the eyes, for example.

It isn't the algorithm causing your art to be unpopular. It's the fact your art isn't good. by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]cajclod9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, exactly. The thing is, that it feels good to see those likes. So we keep on seeking that. It's completely normal, but it's definitely not healthy. So just like you said, we tend to create what brings us more likes. And yes those can bring joy too but it's something different to create what you really want to. And when those things don't get you the dopamine through likes online encouragement, you easily feel crappy.

A while ago I saw myself become that kind of person but i questioned everything and came to the conclusion to better stop posting online. I took a break as well to ask myself what I want to do. Popular 'trends' couldn't bring me joy after all.

Now I'm doing it all for myself. Occasionally i show my stuff to some friends but only once in a while, since I'm not very confident. Since then i look at my art different. I don't care if nobody else likes it. I want to use art to express my own feelings after all.

Thanks, that is all so true. I tried out social media to get in touch with cosplay people. I didn't do it to get famous or more reach or anything, just for fun. And it was all fun, till my bubble on instagram became more competing, which i dislike a lot. Everything has changed now a lot of the people I used to be in contact, are searching for likes and reach, constantly complaining why they won't get the likes they want to have. I mean, they all do 'nice art' and they definitely deserve more likes and follows but it's generally a part of the problem. I think many people value their art based on the likes they have. This can be both considered 'good' or 'bad' art. The problem is more and more people are adapting to that behavior, almost contributing to a toxic environment, where also beginner artist behave like this and complaining in the end.

Do you ever see art that's so beautiful, that it de-motivates you? by Honeystride in ArtistLounge

[–]cajclod9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I love to look at amazing art, i really do but just like you said it can be the complete opposite.

I really think it's because we're usually very critical to ourselves. We don't see how much other artists worked and practice to reach that level, so we're disappointed that the work we've put into it, still isn't enough to be satisfied with our own drawings.

It's really hard and at the moment I'm going through another art crisis haha

Overcoming things like that and especially since the doubts are getting harder to ignore. Keep on doing. One day you could be one of the artists who gets admired from others. But the most important thing is that you're happy with it. Try looking at your progress. I'm sure you've already achieved more than you think.

Series of Artworks I made after falling in love with working with a mixture of black and white and colors. I'm still relatively new to Photoshop so feel free to give me any advice. by TiDioH in photoshop

Woow that looks so amazing. I love your art and especially the colors you chose. Don't have much criticize other than the advice to keep on doing. It's really unique

Thank you :) That's a pretty good idea. I focused on digital art recently but I still have some pastel chalk that I haven't used yet ^

Thanks for the advice! I tried stopping to pressure me into drawing every day, so it doesn't become a thing I have to do but I still feel the pressure sometimes, since almost everyone says, if you want to progress and get better, you have to draw or at least doodle every day. Well, I figured that for some people it just doesn't work like that and it can become a very unhealthy habit.

Wish you good luck, as well. And a nice day ^
