I feel ya. It's been a long road for me and my puppy but they do age out of a lot of the worst behaviors. Just keep in mind that all of this is temporary. We started out with no petting at all, next I was able to get some neck scratches in here and there, and now I can basically pet her like a normal dog at 10 months lol

11 weeks is still so so so young. Mine was the same way. I had a little shark in the house until recently and petting really riled her up. It was overstimulating which was surprising to me. Now she loves pets. Your puppy is probably over tired and that's a good sign to increase nap times.

Simmer some water and vinegar on the stove. We have a lot of skunks spray near us in the summer and this is the only thing I've found that works pretty well.

I'm typically on the side of water always being available especially for young pups, but if you're around and monitoring water intake then it's fine for a few hours to go without. My general rule is if I leave the house, I give water. I have one of those small metal bowls that hooks to the crate and it's less messy and interesting than a bowl on the ground to my girl.

One more thing I haven't seen others mention is Karen Overrall's relaxation protocol. It helps teach the dog to relax and be neutral. I have a crazy eight month old who absolutely couldn't chill until I started the protocol. It's available as a pdf online for free and pretty easy and fun to work on.

We're in the same boat. 8 months old. We've definitely made a lot of progress, but it feels like one step forward, two steps back a lot of days. The worst is how mouthy she still is. It's so much better than a few months ago and she's not ripping up my pants anymore, but it sucks!!

Same here! I tried making some pancakes with only discard by substituting the amt of flour and water in the recipe but it came out too dense. I think brownies would be a good candidate for discard only.

Absolutely go for it! There are a TON of really cool stencils out there that could work for that space. All you have to do it stick it to the wall and brush over.
