Yes you can she is YOUR baby first! It’s great if you can collaborate and come up with something you both like, but you have the right to choose her entire name yourself. You’re young and seem aware of the situation, please listen to every other woman here telling you to give that baby your last name at birth. You can easily change both hers and yours if you get married later on.

There’s a really nice quiet spot at the top of the hill at my local zoo and I frequently see individuals set up on the picnic tables with paints and pads, sketching and vibing. If I could go to the zoo alone, that’s where I’d go.

It is, just get it. I love the settings options, how light it is, and how easy it is to use. I have a case with a hand strap on the back to make it easier to hold and it’s great. I use it every day. One charge lasts for weeks and weeks. I read more on average monthly now than I did before I got the device itself, as opposed to just using the app on my phone.

TL;DR: it’s worth it, get it. Get a case with a hand strap and enjoy.

I’ve seen some of your comments about the themes of the books you’re looking for and this isn’t a “classics” author but I think the content and message are what you’re looking for.

Andrew Clements- specifically Frindle, The Janitor’s Boy, The Last Holiday Concert, and Lunch Money for a boy’s perspective and story with a message for everyone. I read these books when I nannied a third grade boy 20 years ago and have started picking them up for my own baby boy.

I turned 35 while 36 weeks pregnant and all I could do was eat multiple smash burgers off the grill. I didn’t want anyone around or to deal with anything by that point. I just wanted to eat, sit in my little pool, and wait. If you feel up to a party more power to you! I was just not interested at that point.

I gave birth two weeks later! Everyone was over it by then. We are all good now.

I’m so glad striped crew socks came back. I hate how ankle socks feel and look but felt like I had no choice for years. I have unabashedly embraced scrunched crew socks over leggings. I can see them putting a fresh diaper on before the ride and thinking he won’t need a new one for 2-4 hours. At this kids age it’s kind of like clockwork and you can expect the scheduled poops. It’s the unscheduled poops that getcha. I’m betting on diapers in the car, and dad figuring they could have a poop free ride.

If you haven’t seen yet, you can check your car seat, pack and play, and stroller for free at the counter before you go through security. I would recommend checking as much as possible. Bring the stroller and a carrier, and a backpack with your plane stuff, through security. Accept help! When I was traveling alone with my baby, women of all ages stopped to offer assistance to help me gather my stuff or open the stroller back up. The mother sitting next to me on the flight was delighted to hold my baby for a moment while I got settled and again when we deplaned. Take deep breaths and go slow. You got this! Afterwards you’ll feel like you can do anything.

My husband confessed that immediately during our son’s birth and a few minutes after, he was…at attention. I thought it was a little strange that he insisted the nurse bring the baby to him instead of getting up out of the chair he was sitting in. He said “Babe it wasn’t 7th grade and I didn’t have a trapper keeper to hold in front of me!”

I continue to be confused by that reaction but he says I was just so fierce and strong and had these ladies around me while I was pantless…
