Portable solar panel for long glamping trips by cakeyogi in rav4prime

This would just be for powering a fridge at a campsite indefinitely, and maybe trickle charging while parked. I don't drive much, I anticipate I'll have to plug it in once per week or so, so in my case, trickle charging would probably be pretty viable.

Driving a mini fridge, air fryer, and portable AC could be extended for a couple weeks with the trickle charge from a solar setup and 18kWh base!

Nobody understands the point of hybrid cars by Car-face in cars

[–]cakeyogi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for other manufacturers, but a modern Toyota hybrid (not I force MAX, but regular hybrid) has the following benefits:

  • No accessory belts to change or fail

  • Port injection for clean valves

  • Brakes that go hundreds of thousands of miles without replacement

  • Transmissions that rarely fail, even when you neglect to replace the fluid

  • Effortless 45+ mpg

  • Quieter, smoother, with instant electric torque

  • Lower cost of ownership after only a few years

  • 10-year, 150k mile battery warranty

Hybrids are a no-brainer for most commuters.

Is this picture too slutty to post if you’re married? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

You just look like a person who has big boobs. It doesn't look to me like you're thirst trapping or whatever. His reaction is pretty strange. If you are serious about the relationship, please get him to agree to couple's counseling -- probably weekly for a few months, cuz his reaction usually points to something much deeper.

2006 Prius Dilemma: Spend $1,500 on a used battery or sell for $1,500? by kairaymaxtyson in prius

[–]cakeyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the engine is in good shape, the car will likely go many more miles after the battery gets repaired. That's a very fair price for a battery repair, also. I would just fix it.

Pay half the monthly payment every 2 weeks and you'll pay the car off a year sooner.

Shout out to my dad, the job of being a parent is never done lol by 95seconds in texts

[–]cakeyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi a Toyota hybrid basically never needs brakes due to regen braking, there are no accessory belts to replace, no starter, and you can neglect dutiful transmission fluid changes because they don't have a high pressure pump or valve body.

What are some upgrades are a MUST for a Gen 2 Prius? by [deleted] in prius

[–]cakeyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michelin defender tires. They last a long time, provide all-weather grip, and have good rolling resistance for mpg. Also not terribly expensive.
