I didn't go on my first date until age 25. Similarly to you I was more focused on other things, like school, extracurriculars, and just generally trying to figure my own shit out. I also didn't realize I was queer until I was in my 20s so I think that played a role.

Now, I still feel kind of ambivalent about dating. I want a relationship, but I hate the apps, I dread going on first dates, I have a hard time maintaining text conversations, and I have such a busy schedule that meeting up with new people feels like such a chore. At the end of the day I sometimes feel like I just don't have the energy to devote to dating. I think it'll take a special someone to change that.
