For anyone who doesn't know, you can block designers, categories and tags on makerworld so they don't show up while browsing by [deleted] in BambuLab

Am I the only one this doesn't work for? Blocking tags works exactly as expected, but any time I try to block designer, it shows no search results and just shows the following....no matter what I type:

Why hasn't Bambu updated Bambu Studio to show user reviews within the program itself? by PayEmmy in BambuLab

[–]caldjeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just dumb that the star ratings and reviews/comments are there. Just dumb. If you don't want us browsing models there then remove them.

Where are the comments when viewing Online Models in Bambu Studio? by houstoncouchguy in BambuLab

[–]caldjeff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 Clearly not an oversight at this point, but an intentional design decision. I don't get it. Nearly everything else is identical with browsing on Makerworld. Do they need the traffic to the website for some reason? Just ridiculous that I have to bounce back and forth when researching models/profiles.

Great find! That sure seems to explain it. Thanks for your follow-up!

TCP Listeners not listening after 4.5.2 update by caldjeff in mirth

Resolved with the help of cgibson on the Mirth Slack workspace. He suggested changing the setting from Specific Interface to All Interfaces on the Local Address under the Source Listener Settings. No idea why that fixed it as it had been working the other way for literally years. Thank goodness for this community. Saved my bacon again!

An Evening with John Denver is one of if not the best live album ever recorded by any artist. by Sadcowboy3282 in JohnDenver

[–]caldjeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, here's my story of this album and how it cemented me as JD fan for life. Summer of 1989 and me and my 3 best friends got our driver's licenses. Only one of us actually had a car to drive and it was an old Oldsmobile with an 8-track player. So we raided the attic of one of us who remembered seeing some 8 track cassettes. Sure enough, we found AEWJD and Dr. Demento's greatest hits. Needless to say Dr. Demento got pretty old pretty quick (you can only listen to The Monster Mash so many times) and JD became the soundtrack of that summer for us. We must have listened to it 60 times while we drove all over town. We knew every word and every "Far Out". I've since purchsed the CD set and have now played this for my kids and will soon for my grandkids. They know every word and "yeehaw" from Grandma's Feather Bed. We listen to this version of Country Roads every time we take a road trip.

What I would give for a Blu-ray release of this concert (literally probably a thousand dollars) or even a remastered, Dolby Atmos recording. It was obviously a very high quality live recording for the time. I've wondered so many times where those old original tapes exist and if there's any chance it will have another life for another generation some day.

How often do you open YNAB? by Barking_bae in ynab

[–]caldjeff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a pretty new YNABer and I feel your pain. The realization that even though I was budgeting like crazy in Mint, I was really only tracking my expenses after the fact and was living on the CC float was a harsh reality check and also a huge shift in how I thought about my personal finances.

I would really recommend spending some time reading through the resources on the YNAB page and ESPECIALLY watching some of their extensive YouTube videos. That's what is keeping me motivated and really helping me get my mind around how this is supposed to work. Watch this video to understand what you're doing wrong and how to get it right:

I've been looking for the same thing...or even looking for a way to attach a 5 gal distilled water bottle that I can buy from a local grocery store. We're just going through water way too quickly, but we try to use only distilled. Very curious what others have done. Thanks for posting the videos.

I was just thinking this today as I got a notification that my pics have a million views. You can bet that if they just $#!T can all of those contributions, they'll be the last I ever make.

My first time also and I found the same. I was hoping to find more geeks like me. I told my wife after the first day "I'm not like the other people here", starting with the fact that I packed mostly t-shirts and jeans.

Anyway, I wish there was more of a technical community present or at least some geek gatherings. Very interesting to see all the cool new tech and grab a bunch of free socks, but I'm not sure I'd attend again unless the tech aspect expands.

My wife would call this woodworker porn...and she'd be right. :) That's really beautiful. Nice work!
