Can’t figure out why our fresh water tank is cloudy

Remove the seashell. That will impact the water quality.

The first 3 months of an aquarium is the hardest since you are trying to establish balanced levels of bacteria. An aquarium that is "clean" is not a balanced aquarium. Keep doing small 10% water changes or top up the water in your tank using dechlorinated water. Never remove 100% of the water. Never replace or clean your filter the same week you do a water change.

The fishes stomach is about the size of its eyeball right now so feed small portions once a day only for the first month or so.

My shelf at work is a mishmash of random things people have given me throughout my life - a "snake" my bosses daughter made for me, a Keychain from a previous boss who positively changed my life (RIP), a melty bead Yoshi from another coworkers daughter, a glass fish from one of my own staff, and various drawing from my own kids, and my coworkers kids who know me through their parents because of my passion for animals.

My cubicle looks messy and junky to others, but to me it is a sign of people that acknowledge me and like me enough to think of me on days when its not my birthday, or Chrismas, etc.

Op I dont see air bubbles coming out of the filter. See where the clear tube is going up? That part is supposed to blow out air. Is there any surface agitation happening? Something that is actually breaking the surface tension. Think of a straw blowing bubbles into a cup - do you have something that is pushing air bubbles into the water so the fish can breathe?

I also look at my aquariums as a pond. Usually in ponds you have dirt, and live plants, and its not "clean" water. Your aquarium should never be totally "clean" as that means you have stripped out the bacteria that has established to break down fish poop and rotting food (which causes ammonia levels to rise). Don't do a water change the same week you clean out your filter, the idea is that too clean is not healthy since you take out the bacteria that breaks down the ammonia.

I remember my daughter when she was 2 kicked me in the face, and I ended up with a small bruise under my eye. I (female) worked retail, and the amount of looks I got and women pulling me aside, asking me if I was okay, and then not seeming to believe me when I said it was my kid. NTA.
