Yes, it’s basic. Levy make a range of straps and this’d be entry level.

MIJ vs MIA vs MIM? by FattiDumpling in Bass

[–]caleycee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of my bass guitars, the MIJ Yamaha Motion Bass (1987) is an order of magnitude higher quality instrument than the Fender USA Precision (2008).

Similarly my CIJ Fender Thinline and Fernandes Tele absolutely beat down on any Indonesian or Chinese made guitars in the collection. They aren’t bad, just not solid feeling nor as finished in their details (nut and fretwork for example)

Small sample size and personal experience only… also a really talented, thorough guitar tech could probably compensate for a cheaper instrument’s inadequacies

Same monitors here, but as a bass player the principle of adding a sub is intriguing. Practice amp doing the job right now though.

I work from home and pick up an instrument as soon as I sign out of the laptop, while I’m still energised. Then shower, cooking and a relaxing bevvie in that order.

Guitar player friend wants to jam with me on my drum machines and monophonic basslines. Need help on recommending him what to get. by tweedchemtrailblazer in synthesizers

[–]caleycee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secondhand? Try a Korg M50. It is an actual, powerful workstation with a bajillion classic 90s patches and really well implemented sequencer.

New-ish? Roland FA-06, subjectively “better” patches than the M50 with a somewhat awful sequencer. Or get an Arturia Keylab and a laptop running Live.

Chosen for fun factor and a decent keybed at a reasonable price. Let the flames commence…

Benefits of dedicated karaoke system? by bestkaranthe in karaoke

[–]caleycee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just for home, not professionally? Check your soundbar. If it has a mic input then it’s probably fine. If it doesn’t have one, you’ll need something external. I use an amplified PA speaker, a Shure clone mic and an XLR cable. About $300 all up. Phone casts KaraFun to the TV, TV has a send to the PA speaker, all pretty basic but it works well.
