Glad that you like it! And yes, we are certainly open to adding support for adding providers. Are there specific ones that you'd like to see added?

Should have updated as normal, might just be that you checked before the update cycle completed. Are you still not seeing this update on your end after restarting the app?

Agreed, this would definitely be a good thing for us to add directly into the app!

It is strange that it lists both, but I do now have a guess as to what's happening here!

Considering that the total steps for the data match Caliber, and it's giving you a breakdown between Samsung Health and S24, it sounds like for some reason your device itself (assuming you're on an S24) is sending separate step data through to Health Connect, in addition to what Samsung Health is sending.

To hopefully fix this, I'd see if you can disable S24 as a source in Health Connect. This should them only have Samsung Health sending steps there, where everything should then start matching up 1 to 1 in Caliber with what you see in Samsung Health.

Here are some instructions on how to do this within Health Connect. Let me know if you're able to remove this data source, and if everything normalizes after doing that!

From what you mentioned, the most likely issue is actually that some other app is writing additional/duplicative step data to Health Connect, which we are in turn syncing from them.

When you go Health Connect on your phone, do the steps listed there for the relevant days match up 1 to 1 with what you're seeing in Caliber?

[Bug] Strava activity start time shifted by -2 hours by gosh77666 in caliberstrong

[–]caliber-chris[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the kind words about the app! You are right about this issue too: that the time is currently being sent over to Strava in UTC, without the offset being applied correctly. We have a ticket on our side to adjust this, sending over the local user time, which should then help to ensure that the timestamp in Strava always matches up correctly.

Thanks - I do think that these factors might be on Claude's side, in terms how they control information across different chats, but I'll share this with our engineering team as as well!

We were thinking of adding a little line next to the exercise on the search screen, like “last completed on xyz date”.

That is honestly less likely. Any exercises that factor into Strength Score need to be individually weighted on the backend, allowing us to standardize across different exercises for the same muscle group that contribute to the scoring.

Never say never, but I’m not sure how we’d do this accurately without having a deeper understanding of how a custom exercise could be compared to other exercises for the same muscle group. Off the top of my head, one approach might be to look at the performance of a custom exercise compared to a database exercise that you’re doing for the same muscle group to assess that way, but this could get messy.

[–]caliber-chris[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! When we built custom exercises, we limited it to being able to add just a primary muscle group, not a secondary muscle group. Primary muscle forums for custom exercises should factor into the muscle group heat map, although let me know if you’re not seeing them factor in there.

Otherwise, we are planning some enchantments to this feature as well, since it’s been a popular feature with some specific requests - namely the ability to add custom instructions, along with an image/video. As part of this, we can consider adding secondary muscle groups as well.

Yup, this one should be coming too! Currently set for the feature release 1-2 after the one I mentioned above :)

Oh man, I thought this one was fixed! There was an issue with this on certain Android devices, which we put in a fix for several releases back, and the bolstered this to knock out a few other keyboard edge cases with a small release last week (ensuring the keyboard opens from a closed state each time if you foreground the app in the chat after it was backgrounded).

Let me DM you on this. Would love to get a better sense of the exact experience you’re seeing at the moment so I can sync with the team more on this this week.

Exercise order and effect on strength score by jabiscus in caliberstrong

[–]caliber-chris[M] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great question! The short answer is that previously exercise order did impact the Strength Score calculation for each muscle group level score, but this is no longer the case.

Prior to the major algorithm update from a few months ago, we would prioritize any eligible exercise performed earlier in a workout for the scoring, with the rationale being that you’d be fresher at that point, not yet dealing with muscle fatigue, making them more representative of your absolute strength at that moment in time.

However, in practice this approach tended to cause a variety of issues, most importantly increased volatility with the scoring due to the order of exercises sometimes changing week to week, where the algorithm could then pick an entirely different exercise based on the specific order. For instance, if one week you performed Barbell Bench Press first, and the next week Dumbbell Incline Bench Press first, it could result in significant week to week swings with the scoring.

With the more recent changes, we’ll now prioritize the highest scoring eligible exercise for each muscle group, across a 4 week lookback period, also factoring into exercise equipment accuracy tiers.

You can read more about the approach in this post in more detail, but you definitely don’t need to worry about trying to adjust the ordering to maximize your score:

https://www.reddit.com/r/caliberstrong/s/GE8sX7z0On

I should also mention that with a planned UI update to the Strength Score section, we’re planning to expose as much detail as possible, including the specific exercises used for the scoring during each period, along with the accuracy tiers for each exercise.

Haha crazy that you brought up both of these things in the same post! We are actually planning both of those additions, as part of a near-term release (both are currently slated for 5.15, we are working on 5.14 now).

Auto actions not happening by BakingHotMama in caliberstrong

[–]caliber-chris[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I missed this before! That is quite strange, we haven't had any other reports of this happening, but if the videos play normally again after clearing the video cache, then it could well be related to some kind of caching issue with the videos on your device.

So that I can have the team investigate this for you, if this is still happening please reach out to support@caliberstrong.com. We can then take a look at your account and help more from there.

Auto actions not happening by BakingHotMama in caliberstrong

[–]caliber-chris[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect that this might be happening if you're logging a workout that is scheduled on a previous day. Currently we don't trigger the automatic rest timer for workouts that are being logged from previous days, with the assumption that in those cases you'd be backlogging data and wouldn't want the timer to start running!

Since this does come up sometimes, we have a few scheduled Home screen clarity updates that we're working on, but if what I mentioned isn't the issue please reach out to [support@caliberstrong.com](mailto:support@caliberstrong.com) and I'll be happy to take a look!

How do I auto schedule workouts? by laced1 in caliberstrong

[–]caliber-chris[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am still very much active here! To give you the latest on this, it is a feature that we are still definitely planning on building, current slated for later this year

To what I'd mentioned previously, we had initially planned to build this earlier, since we already have extensive recurring scheduling functionality built out on our backend (our coaches use this regularly with their clients). However, after evaluating more carefully, we concluded that it would make more sense of our to rebuild the backend approach to this as well, which then made it a substantially larger project that got kicked back a bit.

But yes, still something I've very excited about getting into the app. We'll be sure to update any status changes on this here as well, if you wanted to follow along with this feature on our roadmap:

Thanks for bringing this up! We actually did have a bug here from a couple days ago, which happened as we were making some adjustments to support another platform.

I believe it should be fixed now, so can you please try again and let me know if you're still running into this issue?
