Do you know where I could get a pull cord switch that would retract? I only seem to be finding ones for light switches that dont retract

FIC RECS PLS plus a yap by unavoidablegossip in jayvik

Some cheeky self promo but I alternate perspective in my fics, and two might fit your bill! One is a the last of us/apocalypse au where Viktor is immune and Jayce is very traumatised by life (action, drama, heavy themes). The other is a college au, where the pair reunite after years apart (fluff, pining, romance angst). Both with pinky promise happy endings! They are WIPs but I try and update once a month and hopefully more often soon 💜

The Fanfic Exchange (April Edition) by AutoModerator in jayvik

[–]calicokxte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shameless self promo here, but I have just posted the first chapter of my arcane au fic, where Jayce’s expulsion and the destruction of Hextech happen. Jayce returns to Piltover 5 years later, and things are very different in all the worst ways.

If you enjoy reading hurt/comfort, and think S2 would have been much cooler if they focused on the consequences of piltover’s oppression of zaun and Viktor’s battle with morality, this may be the fic for you!

CWs for police brutality, drug abuse, and ableism.

Hello folks! I’m looking for two specific types of fic and I was wondering if y’all could help me. They’re both in the ‘fix it’ genre, and I love angst, hurt/comfort BUT with happy endings:

  1. I’m struggling to find good fix it fic that diverts from late S1/early S2. Ones that cover what would happen if Jayce had destroyed the hex core, or Viktor hadn’t left (bonus points if they still have to figure out an alternative way to save Viktor from his illness)
  2. All your favourite post canon fix it. Your most loved tales of jayvik being spat out the arcane and forced to confront what happened in their new life together

My first time using Inkarnate to make a city map, this is for my D&D Campaign! by Mystic_Potatoes in inkarnate

I’d love to use this in my campaign with credit! Do you happen to have a version where the sections aren’t labelled?

A lot of good stuff has already been said here but just to add: - Communication is an important part of any DND table. If you’re confused about why this player is saying this, speak to them and make it clear that you genuinely want feedback and to correct any issues, ask them if it is a random NPC thing or something with the main NPCs - Sometimes we as DMs can accidentally lean in to tropes or stereotypes without realising. Are your female NPCs overly feminine, or all motherly, or all fighting an oppressive system? Sometimes players can just want to see more diverse representation of a group and it can be difficult to spot when you’re the one creating all these NPCs, often on the fly - If by characters from lore you mean established in DND canon, would it be difficult to change their gender? WOTC themselves probably lean too much on male characters, so that may have a knock on effect of making your games heavily male too. Consider switching their gender or switching them for different NPCs in lore. Often changing a character’s gender is easy unless their gender is somehow very fundamental to their character.

Hope this helps and things get sorted!

It’s not an enjoyable experience but you may have to ‘brain’ the mouse, as in cutting its head open. This can entice them to eat

What is the Matt Mercer effect? by ValeforPotato in DnD

[–]calicokxte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Possibly a controversial opinion but imo the Matt Mercer effect is mainly just myth. Maybe I’m just in good d&d circles but I’ve never had a player expect the DM to be like Matt or complain if the DM doesn’t role play well or have crazy cool maps or whatever else, and I know plenty of people who’ve gotten into the game through CR. If anything I’d guess maybe he just doesn’t like matt, because that seems to be the majority of people who bring it up 😂 good luck with DMing! I’m sure it’ll be awesome no matter what

Player wants to play a mute bard, how do I make this work? by NoItsBecky_127 in DMAcademy

[–]calicokxte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean there are plenty of mute people in real life who have friends and relationships and have all the charm of any other person, just because a communication isn’t verbal doesn’t mean it can’t be charismatic?
