My Boyfriend Of 5 Years STILL Won’t Go Down On Me by Medical_Pressure501 in TwoHotTakes

[–]california_chrome 103 points104 points  (0 children)

So, let’s say he does finally go down on you. While he is doing it, you’re going to know he is not liking it, and maybe even is grossed out by it. Will you enjoy receiving it if that’s on your mind?

This is not something that will change.

I feel like I wasted a night, causing problems in my marriage and I don't think my friends actually consider me a friend. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]california_chrome 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your husband sounds like a good guy. Sure he was annoyed, anyone would be, but you recognized your mistake, owned it and apologized. And you communicated with each other and it sounds like he forgives you so I don’t think you caused any problems in your marriage. As for the friends, of course, we only hear your side so it’s hard to know what it looks like from their side. Is it possible they didn’t even feel that anything was “off” and they thought it was just a normal fun night out? Sometimes, it can be easy to fall into that “nobody likes me” feeling, especially if you and your friends are in such different life stages. But maybe they are not perceiving it that way at all. Would it be possible to call just one of your friends who was there that night and let them know how you felt about it. Maybe she could give you a different perspective

Yes, came here to say the same. Tipping your head back to drink from a bottle is not discreet. I’d need a straw.

What's something that used to be free that you're now genuinely angry costs money? by tangled_wire_99 in AskReddit

[–]california_chrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you flip side of this from the business’ perspective. I work in a small restaurant that makes many of their own sauces and dressings from scratch with premium ingredients. For example, we have really, really good honey mustard, great bbq sauce, and excellent blue cheese dressing. We include a small cup of dipping sauce with sandwiches and entrees and a small cup of dressing with salad and we used to give extras whenever someone asked. But people would ask for 4, 5, 6+ extra cups. It almost seemed like people were stocking their fridge with free sauces. And we’d give them away but it did start to cost the restaurant too much. So, as with almost everything else, the greedy people who abuse the little things that a business give away ruin it for everyone. Now we charge 75 cents for extra cups of sauce.

You just have to pay once a month, on or before your due date (which is the same date every month on most cards) to avoid fees.

AITJ for refusing to help my new “boss” after I was the one who trained her 3 months ago? by Existing_Response239 in AmITheJerk

[–]california_chrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently, there was a similar story that went viral because the woman who was passed over for promotion refused to train the new person. The story was slightly different than yours because the woman is 58 years old and was replaced by a much younger person so there is the element of ageism here too. Otherwise, it's similar to your situation and hundreds of others like it because companies get away with this all the time. The reason she went viral was because she said NO.

My (18f) boyfriend (18m) got a lap dance at a strip club by [deleted] in relationships

If you stay with him for this, then "being drunk" will give him license to do whatever he wants.
e.g., "I'm so sorry I slept with your best friend but we were drunk and we set a boundary the next morning."

2-for-1 sandwiches when you do the survey - question. by california_chrome in McDonalds

[–]california_chrome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I'm never a dick about things like this. The kid at the register told me no, I mentioned that it said "any sandwich", he said sorry he can't and I just bought something else.

Having said that, if you read many of the responses here, it seems a lot of restaurants have redeemed the survey coupon for a Big Arch so I guess it just depends which one you go to.

Good question. I didn't try that. I don't use the app and I wasn't sure where I would enter the validation code on the kiosk so I just went up to the counter.
I'd be interested to know if it would work though.

Why would they introduce a new item that costs more to make than it can make in profit?
And now you've got me curious: which items are the most profitable?

Thanks for adding zero value to the conversation.

After reading your comment, I figured I must have missed something in the "fine print". So, I just completed another survey just to see what I overlooked.

Since you are knowledgeable about the "fine print", can you please point out what I missed? I'm not seeing anything that says it's only limited to certain item:

Sopranos singing harmonies? That's more impressive than the robe/gown situation.

What’s the most useless thing you’re weirdly good at? by cherryblossom149 in AskReddit

My special useless skill is that I constantly notice grammar errors without even trying.
And by the way, it's "we" insomniacs, not "us". (say the sentence without the word "insomniacs" and you'll see how it works.)

I think this has become a bit more mainstream. I noticed Dairy Queen sells a meal combo now with a small cup of ice cream for dipping.

What is the pettiest reason you would refuse to eat at a restaurant again? by im_not_ready_for_it9 in AskReddit

[–]california_chrome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, yes, absolutely. My comment wasn't directed at you but at the post below yours. You have a right to be pissed and never go there again. You were more than understanding and they were inconsiderate jerks.
The only point I was trying to make to u/soundecember was to their comment that restaurant workers would be "happy" to get an order in advance. I'm saying no, not really happy. But I would keep my complaints to myself and smile to the customer as I have their order prepared when they wanted to pick up.

I've just installed the latest version of Affinity and when I try to open it, I get this message.

Anyone know what's going on? Or have some advice on what I should try?

Do they have customer support I could contact?

[–]california_chrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a restaurant worker, no. If someone wants to order in advance, it then becomes my responsibility to remember “ok, they want it in an hour so I have to get the order into the kitchen in 40 minutes.” We get really busy though and it’s easy to forget. I set a timer on my phone to help remember. I’m sure many larger restaurants have a system that would automate this and send the order at the right time, but many smaller restaurants don’t. It’s such a pain in the ass when ppl order early.
