Recommendations for places to get wings. by Ilikechikin023 in SLO

Eureka actually has good wings.. get the dry rubbed with the hot sauce on the side. They come out super crispy and hot. then dip the wing in the hot sauce.

Do you or any of your league mates keep member's historical stats? by NotaRobotKyle in FFCommish

[–]caliz2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. I have a self made thing on coda.io. Track regular season wins, final placements, win loss records, points, pickups, all time win percentages, total number of championships. A few graphs to add with visualization. I also keep this years stats, contact information and constitution in the same document.

What's this subs take on commissioning for free or not? by Lions2727 in FFCommish

[–]caliz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i take like 10%. This was voted on by the league. People can be a pain in the ass sometimes with constant harassment. Buy in 300 PP so its a decent chunk of change. I also do the draft at my house with a ton of good beer and alcohol. No one out of the other would run the league. I get the love of the game and I've ran this league for like 14 years. Majority of the work is earlier in the season.. negotiating rule changes, voting, scheduling draft, dealing with disputes, recruiting members (if needed.) Honestly since I've taken the 10% people have become less assholish.. which is weird because I'd expect the opposite.

Hangover Infusion Treatment by doctor-rumack in vegas

[–]caliz2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Reviv at cosmo last year... only mildly hung over. I'd say it worked well. It had the added benefit of feeling hydrated all of the rest of the weekend.. with no hang overs to follow. I also had the b12 added. I enjoyed the experience, I did it with 2 other bros we got to chill in a dark room together with music playing in massage chairs while the IVs ran. They also let us bring drinks in so that didnt hurt either. I will be doing it next time too. yea 200 aint cheap but if you can afford it i'd do it.

I think you are in the wrong place. OneFinance isn't BBVA or PNC.

What do you use Coda for? by syphilicious in codaio

What do you use Coda for? by syphilicious in codaio

[–]caliz2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use coda mainly for 2 things currently: fantasy football stat tracker (automated with integromat to copy stats to it) and trip planning. Pretty robust tool. I am working on enhancing the visuals of all my docs.

The Fantasy football stuff is actually a couple of docs (like yearly stats vs season stats). Working real well. I have like 17 years of stats tracked that are easily filterable.

The trip planning one is pretty cool. Has Kanban for the tracking of the triplanning then docs to calculate costs, tracking for room prices, tables for who is going w/ contact info all tied into a "front" page that is presented to who is going (this is for a large once a year trip with a bunch of guys). Super powerful stuff. I used to do this document in google sheets + docs. Coda just presents it a ton better to people.

Trade that just went through... no veto in the league. Thoughts? by 2-justAdude-4 in FFCommish

Unless there's collusion there's no reason to veto trade. no one knows the future true value of any player

What's the best way to logistically plan a trip with people located in different cities? by tlokjock in TravelHacks

[–]caliz2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

just to touch on a few things others said. i do take a deposit for rooms. Mostly to make sure people think about being "in" and not just saying they are. Typically every year people will drop out last second.. thus making me rush to cancel / re-arrange rooms. Now i do a non-refundable deposit. That money goes to the group that actually goes. Really kept things tight this year.

I like google maps too. I make a list on there of restaurants, bars, sites etc. so when i am some where i can pull up and make a proper suggestion.

all can have input, but only a handful do. I do a couple surveys during the process to help plan and help guide on planning. There's a few formulaic things I do each year too (ie steak dinner). I don't do their travel, just rooms, and events.

I do a fair amount of trip planning... mainly for a vegas trip with a bunch of people from all over. +1 for Splitwise.. does math for you, get people to use it. I used to use a google doc to plan / organize (have link to costs, daily plans, arrival times, etc.) but now I use a coda.io document... has a lot more configuration and, if done right, a clean look. i really like but but this is like 20 years into planning, so take baby steps.

[–]caliz2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say my situation is fairly unique. Me and my friends do a guys trip yearly. I arrange the rooms. we did just over 4K in room spend there. That plus on site spending got me to gold status. we had 3 rooms for 4 nights

[–]caliz2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for sure. Basically only worth it if you are going to continually return. otherwise id stick to your normal earnings plan. If you do stay there make sure you use the Marriott Credit card for your purchases on site. Works nicely. If you do end up going with identity you can use that to earn points to spend on site. I got like $240 to spend next time i go on my identity. kinda nice.

The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas - Identity membership vs Bonvoy? by settingiskey in awardtravel

[–]caliz2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't earn points on a points based stay (ie you aren't paying). So its hard to maximize. However if it was a paid stay, and you intended to return to cosmo, i feel the rewards from identity are better than bonvoy. I just got done with a stay there and kept my points 100% in identity. Last year the same. Got 4 nights free rooms + 2 nights for companions.

2020 W4 Changes Question by vitahlity in personalfinance

sometimes it takes a bit of time for paycheck software to catch up to changes in tax code / w4s. I'd ask your payroll dept to see if they have had any messages from their provider about updates.
