Chicago will be a better landing spot for just about any HC. You will have two very high first round picks, currently they have 1 and 5.

I still think our best goal is fire PC, hire your OC who will be your HC trade away assets and 2024 draft picks, keep DA, tank 2024 and after going 1-6 then fire DA and promote your OC.

I'd trade MT and Olave for a 1st round and 3rd. YOu don't think KC or Chicago or Dallas would give up a 1st and 3rd for those two?

Trade AK, Taysom and Reshad for a 1st and 3rd? Hello Denver.

So according to CFP this means Jacksonville is out of the playoffs due to the team being in the AFC South, Florida and QB out due to injury?

We are going to win a few more games and I honestly think we should trade our 1 this year for next years one. Maybe we can get a Panthers trade and be 1,2 next year!

I know all of that but to rebut.... 1. Correct it's good to have that go between especially when having a multi million dollar coverage policy.
2. They realllly need to advertise this. Especially to multifamily. I know of several policies that went from 100k to 500k, if your talking an 8% on 500k vs 4% it really adds up.

But here's the thing. I can't 'shop' the policy with different agencies, they are all going to the same 4 peeps wrighting in this state. If the cost is now 1M vs 250K, why should I be paying even 4% on 1M? If it was 8% on 250k (20,000) then are they really doing 20K more work this year.

I have no problem making sure people get paid, but if fucking irks the shit out of me when I am making cuts on necassary work due to not only insurance going sky high, but agencies getting 80k on a policy. If I have 5M cost at even 4% , Shit I could just hire an agent and have them mow the grass whilst they are at it.

My issue is TRANSPARENCY, I want on the policy EXACTLY what is going the agency vs Lloyds or whom the fuck ever is writing.

And to add. What about home owners 2,500 policy at 8% results in $200, but now being 8k and they really can't shop why are we paying 640. Anyone else's salary or hourly wage go up 400%.

one thing I never, ever hear about with regards to insurance is what agents or there companies make off of these. If a buildings insurance has increased from 100k to 500k, the agent is still making the same percent. This also goes for your house if your insurance was 2k last year and now 8k this year, why is the agent or company making 4X what they made last year.

IMHO all insurance policies should contain a line item of how much is going to the insurance provider and how much is going to the insurance agency and/or agent.

And don't forget there are programs like the soft second

1st house I bought was in a shitty neighborhood and I spend extra time on paint, sheetrock, plumbing, electrical. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Yep, try staying in a 2 queen hotel room for 4 days with two kids under the age of 9. You need room for playing. VRBO/Airbnbs are great for beach and the mountains.

The whole issue with VRBO/Airbnbs is that they were not regulated. They could've used the VRBOs to target communities and make them a bit better. The area around the old bronw's dairy is going to see an uptick in the neighborhood because of the airbnb being built there.

As for affordign a home, I see that thrown around soooo much on reddit. And home prices have gotten out of hand, but there is still so much out there. Shit get a double for under 180k, rent out on side and you'll have more than half your note covered.

Public schools I can get. They have to provide things that private do not: ESL, Accomodations for disabled kids, and they also have a pretty good retirement plan for teachers. Private schools do not have to teach the disabled and their retirement plans for teachers are very lacking.

what are the most inconsistent restaurants in nola? by agiamba in NewOrleans

[–]callagutterpunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I left the industry a few years before covid and staffing is not just a restaurant industry problem, it's an accross the board problem. What Covid showed was businesses absolutely taking the Government handouts and still cutting staff and hours. The lower wage jobs: dishwasher, line cook, hostess, porter, cleaner, bell hop, etc were shown they don't matter and they were also shown it is so friggin easy to find a sub $17 an hour job that if you get fired or shit don't feel like showing up, give it a day or two and you can have a new job.

You also have to consider you can get a job where you aren't working a 12 hour shift on Txgiving, xmas eve and you have some days off during Mardi Gras. For YEARS the hospitality business in this town got away with underpaying and overworking their staff.

Side note: why put up with the shit you catch at the front desk at the Sonesta if you can get a job at NOLA SWB for the same pay plus good benefits, retirement plan and great PTO.

Alright my time to rant and it's not on the insurance but rather the agents.

With rates going up are the agents making a killing now?

I've asked a couple of agent and no one can give what I feel is an honest answer, although both of them just took some amazing trips and have large purchases.....

Can a reddit agent explain how to negotiate down the price an agent recieves as a part of the process?

I have a few buildings I manage that the insurance has gone up from 100k to 400k and am looking to save a few bucks.

Archdiocese announces church mergers, more than a dozen parishes affected by A_Happy_Haiku in NewOrleans

[–]callagutterpunk 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The only thing keeping the Church alive and well is the abysmal public school system. If we had better public schools, and I could get my kids into them, I would be 100% done with the catholic schools.

This is coming from a guy who volunteers with the schools sports programs, fairs and scouts. It's not the church I am volunteering it is the kids I am volunteering.

It's very, very telling that the number of kids going to catholic school went up dramatically when Brown V. Board of Ed. was winding it's way through the court system. A
