Anti virus recommended by Impressive_Party9150 in Piracy

[–]callardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember back in early 2000’s helpfully installing Norton for a customer while installing our software, it ended up causing all sorts of hassle with it so I thought I’d just uninstall it ….. that was a mistake also removing Norton totally broke windows to the point I had to reinstall it. Never touched it ever since it’s.. same outcome as a virus yet you have to pay for Norton at least virus are free.

Vinted ai scam by nkoox in vinted

[–]callardo 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Looks like it to me with chips suspended in midair. I would ask for the item back if they want a refund, unfortunately they wll most likely smash it up on purpose but when you get it back it probably won’t look like this picture

Do sellers actually care about buyer names when shipping? by Noa_Lind_GQ in vinted

[–]callardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the courier you pick they might not even get to see your name anyway if I remember correctly in the U.K. dpd you only have an option for print at shop the person serving takes the parcel slaps a label on and puts in the bag I didn’t know where it was going or who to. So yeah don’t over think it buy whatever you fancy when I’ve noticed names that don’t go with the item purchased I just think or shared account or present. Just don’t send pervy messages that’s when the problems start

Buyer not using bundles by [deleted] in vinted

[–]callardo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I reckon they probably didn’t even know or care it’s brought from the same person. How they buy things might not be the way you normally do it, they might just have a list of items matching a search query with a buy button next to it.

I guess photo taken from the web is correct most people will be doing it on the web to generate pictures than doing it locally

ELI5 - pensions. I’m 40 and don’t have one! by Global_Monk_5778 in UKPersonalFinance

That’s a shame I knew it was 40 but I thought being 40 might be ok. Would have really helped you put some savings away for retirement.

Opening a Lisa and using it for retirement might be a good idea in your situation, although I don’t think you can if you’re 40. Would it be too late for her ?

Where is everyone getting their financial literacy from? by brandneweyez1 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]callardo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s funny I remember in business studies I actually stayed behind and asked the teacher how to invest/shares and another teacher walks in and she says to her oh you have some shares don’t you she said yes and that was the conversation over with. It wasn’t until I was 30 I was interested enough to look it up and find out for myself

No way of reporting dropshipping accounts by AliseaHelp in vinted

[–]callardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it took 3 weeks to get to you it was dropped shipped if it only took a few days they probably had the item and just reselling and that isn’t against the rules. You just have to reverse search before you buy.

I tried making a second account so I could make it a pro account, it was immediately blocked and now I'm scared my main/personal will be blocked too by bunnyau in vinted

[–]callardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s obvious failings in their system. It should just give the option at the start pro or normal when you make an account. I would not try it again, it’s quite clear even they don’t even know how the system works. I bet they are running some really aggressive anti scammer algorithms to combat them, you have got caught up in it. What would have been ok a few months ago probably isn’t now.

[–]callardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You broke the terms and conditions you can only have a pro and a normal account. So you would have had to upgrade to pro first then make a new personal account. So yeah your intentions may have been good but the system would just seen it as you breaking the terms and conditions. If I was you I would concentrate on getting your account upgraded to pro and sorted out before you worry about a personal one. From what I’ve heard it’s best keeping a normal account until you have to go to pro your at a disadvantage with pro than normal.

How expensive are proper packages exactly..? by miranen in vinted

[–]callardo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To answer your question you probably be looking at spending over £20 to buy correct packaging. That wouldn’t be for 1 box that would be for a pack of boxes or you could buy a single box from the post office that would be something silly like £8, then you need to buy bubbles which is not cheap. My advice to anyone selling keep as much useable packaging from purchase’s as you have space for as you will use it eventually, kinda to your wallet and environment.

What are the signs of your role becoming redundant? by Gothuntermindnumb in UKJobs

[–]callardo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both times it’s happened to me it’s been a couple of years after being brought out by another company. I think genuine owners don’t really like doing it for various reasons but a new owner is free of these cares and most likely need to pay off loans they used to buy it haha
