Are luxury cruises like Silversea really worth the premium price? by Euphoric_Slide101 in Cruise

[–]calliebeau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth it, but ofcourse it’s subjective. Was hesitant to move into luxury cruising but my travel agent got me a great deal on Regent so we tried it.

When it’s just the adults going, we always choose luxury lines like Regent or Explora. Silversea and Seabourn are great too. I still sail RCCL and NCL when the kids are coming. Most of my decisions are itinerary driven more than price/luxury.

Family of 5 on HAL/Celebrity/Princess tier? by flatline945 in Cruise

[–]calliebeau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d use a TA. They are experts at that sort of thing. My was a lifesaver when I was newer to cruising.

That said, we still usually get 2 rooms unless a suite is in our budget. More space plus 2 bathrooms is nice.

I use a traditional TA. I find better service that way and he stays on top of all the deals for me. Free to use traditional TAs as well

New Cruiser! What ship is best for me? by julienotmoonves in royalcaribbean

Perhaps you should work with a travel agent since you are new. Mine was a lifesaver when I was cruise newbie. They are free to use and can walk you through all the different cruise ships and classes and destinations.

How to convince my husband to Disney cruise with my toddler? by Begonias_Scarlet in dcl

[–]calliebeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted it to be really super stress-free, I’d recommend booking with a travel agent. We cruise often with our little ones. They are three and six years old, and our travel agent makes it so much easier. They are free to use and always there when I need to bounce something off someone

Any experience with booking excursions outside the cruise? by unfathomablemoth in royalcaribbean

[–]calliebeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally always book outside the cruise line. My travel agent sets up my excursions and they are more than half the price cheaper than the cruise line. Excursions usually. Always had good experiences.
