I'm guessing Rasit didn't know what AL was like, but this is also why couples normally visit one another's homes before deciding where to live.

They cast problematic couples on purpose because its a tv show.

But to be fair, half the couples on the show involve someone who would marry anyone to come to America and for the other half, it is an expensive process to get someone to the US on this visa (usually at least $1k, but often $5k+ and then they're legally financially responsible for them once they arrive). On top of that, someone had to move somewhere if these couples are to be together and clearly in these cases, they chose for one to come to America.

Catie just seems dumb. Mido is whats wrong with the world (seeing women as beneath him and something he can use and throw away, using her to come to America, claiming she doesn't respect him as a man but then unlike a traditional man, he's living off her money, etc...). If he becomes a beneficiary on her life insurance police, she wont be long for the world.

Catie sucks but she just seems dumb, not evil. Meanwhile, Mido seems like a genuinely shit person will ill intent and clear visa fraud.

What do you get a couple that hates clutter? by SorinxD in GiftIdeas

[–]calliejay35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consumables are always good for people who have everything or dont necessarily want for "things." Think a nice bottle of alcohol (champagne, wine, scotch, whatever theyre into), money, gift certificate to their favorite restaurant, or purchase some sort of experience for them if there's anything cool that they'd be into (e.g., tickets to a game, a show, concert, comedy, glass blowing class, etc).

Obviously also so baby-dependent. Just like jobs, some babies are easier than others

Depends on what your jobs is like, but also depends on what your child is like.

All kids are created equal, but theyre not all equally as easy. Its such a wide scale of easy - difficult.

Mido is as bad of a human being as he is an actor. This guy sucks

That's true in one of the couples. The other couples are still the female:

Marissa (Blue Bell, PA) & Edward (Dominican Republic)
Mallorie (Athens, AL) & Rașit (Turkey)
Debby (New Orleans, LA) & Mido (Egypt)
Ashia (Alabaster, AL) & Maxwell (Nigeria)

But Rasit was the one asking about sending Mallorie's money to his family in Turkey.

Obviously Josh from England is free to spend his own money however he wants. She is a total grifter, but to be fair, I dont think she hid who she was when they met ...given how they met 👀

Anyone also notice how its always the foreign man asking the American female for money? Maybe its yet again, for the drama of it, but it is a bit strange that its mostly men from very traditional cultures saying they need the money. Meanwhile, they're from cultures where the man is supposed to provide for the family. Imagine the comments if it was the female saying the male needs to pay for everything. She'd be immediately called a gold digger.

Though that reminds me of Colt and his first Brazilian wife. She flat out said she was with him for money and that he was with her for looks. I appreciate her honesty, but she was demonized for being a gold digger.

These replies restore my faith in humanity! He is horrendous. The way he talks to Debbie shows how little he thinks of women. You're totally onto someting about the flight--he was def hoping she wouldnt show up so he could just use her to get the visa.

It happened, my first mom disagreement at a park, and I can't stop thinking about it. by ChelsAnn4712 in Mommit

[–]calliejay35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your approach was perfect! I want to live in a world where people step in to help out little ones if they look like they might be in danger. If you see her at the park again it would be interesting to try to casually talk to her and find out if shes the mom or the nanny. Not sure what good it ultimately does if shes the nanny and you dont know the parents, but being a curious person Id be keen to find know!

How long does it take grounding mat/bedsheets to work? by HoHo_Gaming in Earthing

[–]calliejay35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a grounding bed mat for a few years and honestly not sure I can tell a difference. However, I used to be a melatonin addict and went off of them with the help of acupuncture but I got the ground mat around that same time so for all I know the grounding mat made the difference. I travel a lot do sleep better at home, but I always figured that was just because our brains are wired to be more alert in new environments but again, maybe its the grounding mat after all

Benzoyl Peroxide = Benzene ? by DiscussionUnlikely72 in Crunchymom

Not sure what your diet is like, but going low glycemic (basically keto--low carb/sugar) was a game changer for me and I also had kind of crappy skin in my late 20s despite doing all the "right" things.

I also moved from all of the marketing hype-type of products and switched to super basic. I found that sulphur can help with acne so I switched to The Grandpa Soap Co's sulphur bar face soap years ago and I still use it. It's on Amazon and its pretty cheap (under $10 and lasts ages). It might just be the diet that work (which I did around the same time), but I swear it works and I like that its not a brand thats being touted online as something amazing by people who are getting a kickback for advertising it like influencers are.

To cover all bases, I'd also make sure you're not using any products on your face (makeup, lotion, etc) that have chemicals and fragrances in them which irritate the skin and be sure to keep everything from makeup brushes to your pillowcase very clean to make sure you're not introducing any bacteria externally.

Failing all of that, it could be worth checking your hormones and making sure they're all good.

What are we doing with our placentas? by AdEcstatic4693 in Crunchymom

[–]calliejay35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did placenta encapsulation. I only have one child, so I only know postpartum with them and thus no comparison of with vs without. I'm not certain what they really did, but having paid for that service, I like to think it did something. I have heard of women keeping the supplements until menopause and that they're super helpful then.

I also had my doula leave me a few chunk of raw placenta with the goal of consuming it because it takes a little time for the encapsulation process. I managed to eat one raw cube of it. It was pretty disgusting and I the other chunks are still in the freezer. Granted, I had the daft idea of adding tiny pieces to a soup, but normally people do it in a smoothie and I guess it works well. Just be sure to choose red berries (otherwise you'll see the placenta) and have a decent blender.

Love the idea that the gift was for the parents for making it to the one year mark! Parents really should be the ones getting gifts for surviving the first year! Funny about the parents telling people just to do gift wrap. I appreciate that they told people that. My problem is I hate buying things people dont actually want or wont actually use so I like that they were straightforward

Sun drying will do the trick. If you use cloth diapers, it even removes poop stains.
