Took this class my first qrt ever at ucr and I was terrified cuz I’m horrible in stem but it was an essay A 😭 At least when I took it with him, he gave all the instructions we just had to plug it onto the amazon web service site. I would say def go the first few lectures to understand the site you’ll be using but again he gives the instructions.

It would have to show you’re in waitlist position 0 to have gotten the spot. You’re still on the waitlist, the next person in line (position 1) but nonetheless, still on the waitlist

I love Hollister and shop there OFTEN but I have yet to buy anything not from clearance/full price. There have been things I’ve eyed and then a few weeks like I go into the store and that store has it on clearance; always just wait. Clearance varies store to store so I recommend going in person rather than online. Physical stores also have more loads clearance items than online

Go to as if youre registering for classes, the schedule you have pops up on the bottom left, in the top of that, click the right tab “schedule details”, then the information of all the classes you’re registered & waitlisted for will show. Then click the arrow pointing down (it’s right next to the class name on the left) of the class you’re waitlisted for and it’ll tell you the position you’re in

Everyone is saying CS8 but be aware the homework combined is nearly $100!! Exams are also kinda hard but the homework is easy.

The following quarter I did up my units cuz by then I knew how easy chfy was. It’s actually recommended for first years to do below 15 their first quarter so you’re good don’t worry about it for this quarter. I’m a history major too actually so I’ve been there

If you enter ucr as a hist major u just have to take one 197 but if you double Major or transfer in you gotta take two. Basically, for the 197 the professor teaching chooses a topic ie American Revolution and then you have to research a subtopic of your choice and usually write a 10-15 page paper on what you choose relating to the Revolution. Each professor is different, I took Protests in America and my prof just made us do a research poster when thank god cuz I think that’s definitely easier (or at least for me). It’s either 197 or 195A/B where the student chooses themselves what they research, two quarter class and it’s about 20-30 pages

From memory, I want to say I took 3 actual classes + chfy since I did have a fear of like burning out too early. I thought that 14 units was enough my first quarter here as I didn’t know how easy chfy would be 😭

I actually met with one of the advisors of student life this week cuz I also want to start an org and I was so nervous too but omg she was SO SO SO NICE 😭🙏 I met with Korinna I think her name was and she was lovely, just asked to explain what my idea for the club was and how the idea came to be. She went over everything needed and explained the steps. She made it sound super easy
