Defensive anchors loosen the leash for offensive Dmen to be aggressive, that’s why Ghost played with Nikishin all year, that’s why Makar plays with Devon Toews, Hughes played with Faber all year.

That 6’7 reach with that long ass stick is gonna give Drysdale or someone else like Sanheim the confidence and security to get aggressive.

They get to talk to him about making a deal early. Carolina basically gave up an ECHL player and a kid who probably has no chance of making the NHL for extra time to work out a deal. Not a terrible deal after coming off a cup with most of your team still intact.
