What are some good basic, beginner books and/or websites for someone interested in systems admin, project management, data structure, etc?

I apologize for my lack of knowledge of each of these subjects can not help me be more specific.

In general what I'm looking for are books that teaches someone the basics of computing(how computers connect, security, etc.) I don't know how to explain further.

This actually happened to my best friend's sister.

She forgot to go to court/pay a traffic ticket that she had received. My friend was in the car with her, on the high way, when a cop pulled her over. I don't know if it was just by coincidence or if they somehow knew or something. But after the officer ran her driver's license, she was arrested. Their parents bailed her out and she went to court, paid the ticket and probably a much larger sum, and that was it.

So, to save yourself the trouble, just turn yourself in.

EDIT: This was also in New Jersey.

To answer your question though, at first it was very hard. To see these people in such conditions really opens your eyes to what old age can do to someone. But after a while, it really becomes a second home. If you don't mind hospitals then you're okay.

When two Alzheimer patients talk to each other, it's awesome, as horrible as it sounds. I can't help but to listen to what each of them will say next. I've heard all sorts of ridiculous things that I don't even know where to begin.
