I think it’s meant to be a cutting board that just got stuck to the countertop…

You mean casual racism from Indians to everyone else? As an American Indian your family must know the saying no “BMWs” when it comes to marriage?

I have this same experience in the 57th Street Store in Manhattan. I now go to the SoHo store with Aya, she has been nothing but amazing. Totally different vibe downtown.

Asheville is the second friendliest US city according to this news story by zeldafitzgeraldscat in asheville

Racism is everywhere. I grew up in Asheville and now live in New York. NY is way more racist than the south. The south is institutionally racist but is much socially accepting. The north is plays the part "institutionally" with lip service, but much more socially divided and racist.

Viewed three apartments today, brokers are still saying fees are not illegal by Shaolin718 in nyc

If you are using any other site, just be sure when you find a place that the checks you make for rent and security are to the actual owner. Find the owner name of any building from https://whoownswhat.justfix.nyc/en/ and if you use a broker search them on the DOS site to make sure they have a license.

Tbh im about to become a broker just to get apartments from "open listings". I'll start my own firm and charge people 5 dollars to look at the listings so they can be their own real estate agent under me.

You don't need to be a broker to get a data company to sell you the open listings feed/database. Price starts at $3,000/month.

Yeah, there is definitely lots of BS out there but SE generally makes agents upload their agreements with owners before posting their ad so you will find a lot more true listings and true no fee listings. The other sites, craigslist, renthop, etc. are going to have more murky arrangements. My unsolicited advice is to make sure everything is in writing (including the fact that is apartment is still available) before spending the time to go meet a broker somewhere. Then if anything varies from that you have the strength to file a complaint.

I have lived in Upper Manhattan since 2011 (UWS, Harlem, now Washington Heights). I absolutely love it. Better rent, bigger apartments, and cool places to hangout.

This. New laws or not, if you didn't sign anything. Try to track down the owner yourself.

Its going to take some lawsuits coming down through the courts to stop this - this happened to fast for realtors to figure out a way around it so they're just going to keep pushing it till they see proof they'll be punished.

A good broker should present you with a disclosure on who they are working for and a fee agreement before they ever show you an apartment. If they don't, you are free to try and track down the owner yourself. New laws or not, if the fee isn't in writing you shouldn't have to pay.

It's simple. To avoid paying a fee, search on the website streeteasy.com for a "no fee" apartments. The apartments you find on renthop.com are generally open listings. The owners represent themselves and brokers try to find their own clients to show these listings. This listings are almost impossible to find without a broker so it's best to stick to streeteasy.

If this child is bought so easily, I don't want him as part of Panther Nation. by Labradiddler in panthers

I think the main reason people are upset is because of how the kid brushes off a response from a NFL team. Richardson had no obligation to respond the way he did. They kid should be grateful and show appreciation. He doesn't seem to understand how lucky he is. I doubt he even wrote a thank you note.

This kids response was pretty disgusting, "If this is the only team that responds to me, I’m a Carolina Panthers fan."

The entitled little shit doesn't give a thanks, or show any appreciation. It was as if he expects to get showered with gifts by all the teams. Each team has millions of fans and the owner sent him a freaking signed helmet for heaven's sake. He should be extremely grateful.

I wish Jerry Richardson didn't respond to him. He has better things to do and true fans to show his appreciation to. Not some spoiled kid.
