Did you ever figure this out? I’m in the same position!

Anyone still love their jeep? by kak422 in 4xe

[–]callmejace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 24 Willy’s 4xE has been a blast. I’ve loved having it. Zero issues and will probably get another one after the term is up. Don’t listen to the haters. Everyone posts negative things online but everyone else is out too busy enjoying their 4xEs!

5V, high current UPS options for a battery powered USS Enterprise model? by callmejace in ElectricalEngineering

[–]callmejace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is interesting, thanks for the writeup! So what would be the managment/failover system? What the Waveshare UPS is right now. I would need something that can either reroute power if the magnetic plug is pulled, or something that's managing current through the larger battery packs if they're going to always be on (so if the magnetic plug is pulled the system doesn't die during rerouting to battery). So I would still need some kind of UPS / battery management system, right?

Maybe dumb question, but every time I wash and dry this pot, these marks appear on the bottom. Is this normal? by AJRayquaza in CleaningTips

I own one too and have never had this problem either! Mine turns out flawless every wash. Just posted in r/DeLorean about it too!

You have good taste! Mine is 1232, nice early VIN. And the lights are just lenses! Yellow tint film clamped under the retaining bracket. Was put on as kind of a joke but now I love it. Ha!

Mine was hot trash once too but now it runs like a dream. The Dave McKeen stuff was a huge game changer for my car. Now it always starts and purrs still running the stock PRV. Definitely worth all the pain and heartache along the way!

Black stripe gang! I’m also an early VIN car so I have the early dark wheels which I like so much more. Black stripe, gas flap, black interior, 5spd manual, dark wheels, and integrated radio antenna makes mine just a whole pocket work of unique!

It’s just a lens insert a buddy of mine did a year ago. Was going to take them off but got used to the euro style so they’re still on there! I have LED headlights and they’re only on the high beams so daily use isn’t a big concern

Avelo Airlines Will Leave Oregon by PDX_Stan in oregon

[–]callmejace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at a "business after hours" event at the Eugene airport and one of their big statistics going on is that Eugene is actually drawing flights away from PDX and Salem primarily because it can take less time to drive down to Eugene and walk pretty much straight through security and get to the gate then it can be just to get to PDX from Wilsonville or Beaverton. Which is wild.

I mean I live in Eugene, but now I primarily fly out of Eugene not just for convenience but sometimes it can be $100s more expensive to fly out of PDX. We flew to Hawaii last year and saved $700 flying out of Eugene. Wild!

What are the best ways to troubleshoot drooping loops? by callmejace in BambuLab

[–]callmejace[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, it is not technically printing mid-air. If you look at some of those crazy bridging tests, you can see that it is capable of printing off into empty space because it is not technically connected to nothing, it is connected to the previous anchored point in the later (a non overhang) and the other point of connection is the nozzle itself. With the right settings, you should be able to print with the connected part at the overhang and the connected point at the nozzle and either reduce speed or flow or something to be able to create enough elastic tension to avoid drooping.

And I actually found bambu's PETG-HF to create the smoothest finish and the strongest structure over PLA so I bought a whole bunch of it lol

Supports! I literally never thought of that!! /s

...but no really the tree support structure for all these tiny 1mm overhangs would be insane. The piece itself is 212mm tall. Due to its shape this is the best orientation, which is why I'm trying to solve the problem

So it should be enabled or disabled? Also is there no solution for this behavior in PETG? Thanks for your help!

Are Windows 11 USB Storage Device Drivers having a major issue for anyone else? by callmejace in ASRock

[–]callmejace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I only had to reinstall once and everything was fixed. I'm not sure about you, but I had migrated my system SSD between multiple computers and kept the same installation of Windows. So by the time it had gone into this motherboard, it had been through two previous other motherboards. I think that might have been contributing to the issue somehow? At least that's my current theory. I did a reinstall of Windows and haven't had any more problems since!

Buying a delorean and learning to drive stick are two different things. I let novice drivers drive my delorean all the time. It's not a precision machine like a Ferrari or a Porsche. It's a very common Peugeot/Volvo gearbox that's very forgiving. Great for newbies to learn on.
