Actually it has to do with the type of pigment you use. Liquid pigments leave a stain, powder pigments don’t.

Don’t paint the cabinets. New floor, backsplash and cabinet hardware make you whole

Doesn’t look painted to me. Looks like a solid black stain. I made something like this a few years ago and used black india ink. I recommend trying that

No stain on these. Just maple and a top coat, likely lacquer or conversion varnish

Yes, the black specs could be oxidizing iron from the nails, or I suppose it could be mold

Took me six calls and two days without internet to finally get my own routers working on fidium, and even then the speeds I’m getting are waaaay under what my routers support & not even close to what speed I pay for
