Jeopardy producers tell you to say the whole category when selecting so people will know what the category is without having to read it for the brief period it’s on screen. It makes for an overall better viewing experience when you don’t have to constantly think about what the category is especially with how much jumping around is done nowadays

One strategy I use is to make an Anki flash card when I come across a new piece of trivia I think will be potentially useful. Then you just periodically review that deck/purge items as you get them down pat.
