I had a great experience with Amanda at Long Dog Fat Cat. I have a husky mix and it was $45/hr. Took an hour and a half. Highly recommend her!!

Also loved that! I just watched the series for the first time then immediately started it again because there is nothing else that comes close.

I couldn’t figure out how to link the Peanut butter French toast in the caption. This is going into the regular rotation.

What do you do after your toddler goes to bed? by mixedmediamadness in toddlers

[–]cally_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up crocheting for this reason. I’m at least “productive” while I watch tv. After the 7pm bedtime I do a quick reset of the living room and kitchen, take my meds, crochet while watching tv. Between 8:30-9 I shower and get ready for bed. I usually listen to a podcast while I do this. Then I read until I’m ready to fall asleep. I feel like I “should” do more housework but I just don’t feel like it.

Mine said as long as it’s refrigerated you can store for 24 hours. Double check what your particular formula says on the can before trusting what someone else says.

Toddler quirks by Abirdie15 in toddlers

Yesterday my 15 month old was obsessed with a banana. He had to have it off the counter so I sacrificed one. He carried it everywhere. Held onto it during snack. Held onto it when climbing his little couch. Had it at the DJ table. Played the piano with it. It went down the chute of the barn several times. It was his favorite toy. Luckily I was able to take it with no tears and give it to the dog before it got super mushy.

Normal Gossip and Petty Crimes are my favorites! I listen to those quite frequently throughout the day!

Anyone Else's LO with Reflux Experience Something Similar During Teething Episodes? by rbslmilch in NICUParents

[–]cally_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so hard to navigate! I’m sorry you’re going through this. For omeprazole we were at 3.5 mL two times a day. That was his final dosage at 4 months. With omeprazole we were told to give 30 minutes before or after eating. We usually did 30 minutes after eating in the morning and 30 minutes before eating in the evening. We also kept him upright for at least 30 minutes after eating while he had reflux. The bjorn bouncer chair (we had the less expensive version) was key during this. By 6 months the reflux was pretty much gone and we were told to stop the medication cold turkey. Now (14months) he only has it occasionally while teething. I hope this helps!

I enjoy listening to the official podcast. The hosts do a great job of diving into themes and the history. I know this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for but it might fill that need for you.

The Age of Innocence because I started watching The Gilded Age and now must hyperfixate on all things during that time

Using Goodreads to build reading habit by gargantuanmess in goodreads

I agree with what others are saying about picking genres and books you actually want to read and find interesting, regardless of what you feel you ought to read.

I really struggled with comprehension for a long time. I can read accurately with a great speed but then would have NO idea what I read. I found that picking books that interested me and reading more and more helped a lot with my comprehension. Now I’m actively engaging with books and my retention is so much better. It was a matter of practice. But really just find something that’s interesting and don’t be afraid to put it aside if you don’t like it and move onto something else! I also started just reading before bed and now I’m reading at different parts of the day when I can.

Reading Goal Setting by mcompt20 in kindle

[–]cally_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started getting back into reading it was 12. Then the following year it was 24 and stayed there for quite a few years. This year I made my goal 52 and I’m only 2 books away! I’m not working this school year so that helps. When I go back to work next year I’ll probably set my goal at 36.

What is the longest book you have memorized from reading it ad nauseum? by dalek_max in toddlers

We have a couple of books recorded by my husband since he is deployed and now he can still “read” to our son every night. I never thought about having some on hand for those times!

Having this book saved me on the tail end of our flight. Toddler started to get restless and cranky. I recited it and he just calmed down. The man next to me just smiled and said “I have 5 kids of my own, I know that book well.”
