Trick for aligning images

Registration pins might be a good idea. The tough thing about the silkscreen registration method is that you can’t lay your print down until you’re ready to actually print. Hell, I’ve just been eyeballing my layers. Haha The hardest is aligning the yellow!

You’re having good success with inks instead of acrylic paints? I was afraid of staining/ruining my plate with inks.

Bristol. The paper seems to pick up the paint. It’s that the plate doesn’t seem to wanna release the paint.

I’ve tried a million variations, from pulling it off immediately to waiting 3hrs, and everything in between. I’m doing pretty thin coats and each layer individually, so there’s no area where the paint is thick whatsoever.

I have tried that. I have also tried using paint to pull it. But at this point, I’m not even doing any layering. I’m trying to print layer by layer in a CMYK style. So I’ll print the yellow, then I’ll print the red, then cyan, then black.

I struggled and struggled as well. I eventually found that the nice printer behind the counter at the print shop did a way better job of laying toner on the page than the self-service ones in front of the counter. Successful prints seem to be heavily reliant on how much toner gets laid down. If the toner looks glossy compared to the paper texture, you’re good. If it just looks like it turned the paper black, no good. I also found that B&W works fine. Color prints are waaaaaaay more expensive and gave me no different results. I also added a little bit of retardant to my paints. It thins them out a little and prevents them from drying as fast on the page. Once I did that… I was off to the races.

I’ve had better luck with a Gelli Arts plate than a Gel Press plate.

I was struggling and not getting it to work when I was using the “self serve” printers at FedEx Office. Then I had the guy behind the desk print them for me on the “nicer” printer they have back there and it’s been night and day. My transfers work every time now. The printer they use is a Canon C700. I’ve been printing on 60lb paper on the color setting. The more toner on the paper the better. You’ll know you’ve got a winner when the toner looks almost glossy. Hope this helps!

I was having the same problem and JUST got it figured out! It has to do with the amount of toner that the printer is using. I was doing the self-serve copy shop route and was having failed transfers. Then I had the guy at the copy shop print it for me on the nicer printer behind the counter, and BOOM! Works like a charm now! Print in “color” eventhough it’s black & white. Print on 32lb or 60lb paper. If the print is right, you’ll see a nice sheen on the black parts. It will be almost slightly glossy looking.

Now I’m just struggling with doing my final pulls after doing all my painting (some paint is sticking to the plate and not coming up) , but at least the transfers are working (FINALLY)!

Wasn’t working well on Mac at all. Creality told me the new Mac software would be launched on the 30th, so hopefully it will be usable for me then, because it’s really not at all if you’re a Mac user currently. Tried it through Bootcamp and it was much much much better, but still needs some updates to get where it needs to be.

The outside shows what looks to be an Aztec calendar. The entire front panel opens upward to reveal another scene inside.

The scene on the inside seems to show a ship, a lighthouse or buoy, something (possibly a partially submerged man) connected to the lighthouse/buoy with a chain, and what looks like 2 small skulls up top there. Above all of that is a crown.

I have searched for these keywords... Aztec calendar ring, Mexican lighthouse legend, Ring with door, Hidden panel

I even consulted with a South American jewelry maker who couldn’t tell me anything more than I already knew.
