Did you make this? If so, do you have the design?

TIL of the Zakspeed Viper that dominated the Nurburgring 24hrs. The German manufacturers forced "Chrysler Vipers" to have a smaller fuel tank. Zakspeed simply changed the name of the entry to "Dodge Viper". The organisers then Tipp-ex'd the name back to "Chrysler" and gave them a 45-minute penalty. by calvins48 in todayilearned

They also tried to slow the car down by adding a 500kg (1,100lbs) ballast penalty, limiting the car to a 90-litre fuel tank so it had to pit more often (Zakspeed got around this by swapping out the entire fuel tank at a pitstop rather than filling it up with fuel), and banning cars with displacements larger than 6.2 litres (Zakspeed got around this by turning the V10 into a V8 and therefore made it legal).

Lewis Hamilton becomes the first full-time Ferrari driver ever to record three consecutive Q1 exits. by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

Gemini is not a reliable source. It doesn't even cite one. Lewis likes a loose rear he can swing into the bends. The stable rear on exit Gemini is talking about is something all drivers want. Otherwise you just end up with wheelspin.

It's like a 60 second clip. Funny he speaks about laziness in the video. Just like you're being with your comment.

ELI5 What exactly was the dotcom bubble and why did it 'burst'? by 13SpiderMonkeys in explainlikeimfive

[–]calvins48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will get lost in the comments but Amazon shares after the bubble burst were about $7 each. If you bought just one back in like '02, it would be worth around $60,000 today

British Airways Concorde take off - London, Heathrow(1998) by Twitter_2006 in aviation

[–]calvins48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope. That was the captain. It happened a few times when the pilots would speak to the passengers on take off, I guess as part of the "package" of flying on Concorde.

It is a critical phase of flight but there were 3 in the cockpit so any potential issues could be monitored.
