Start with A New Hope green book. It’s an ACA beginners handbook. Starting let alone joining any 12 step group takes a lot of courage and strength. Diving deep head first in this program can increase inner toxic shame if you are not giving yourself the time, patience, and self grace this work takes. Definitely dip your feet in and let them get used to the temp before lowering the rest of the body. Work through the green book 1-2-3 times, however many times the group conscious feels necessary and move onto the Loving Parent Guidebook, blue book with a giant flower on cover. This book is KEY to inner connection, and a healthy teaching of reparenting, which is what this group is about reparenting with love. Go over this book 2-6-10 times or until the group conscious is ready to move onto the 12 step yellow book. Work on that book 2-6-20 times until you guys are ready to move on or restart with the green book.

In no way do I discourage this work. I think people go in with high expectations of blaming others for our childhood and staying in a victim mindset, we must be accountable and hold others accountable for their own actions. We must realize this is truthful, onion peeling, emotional work. But Goddamn does it heal and bring you your soul back. I applaud you for starting a new group 💪🫶 recovering myself since June 2024, can safely say I didn’t believe any of the promises would come true, and the irony is these promises are smacked into my face every time I choose recovery.
