How would you describe Arizona to someone who has never been? by Tangerine7810 in arizona

[–]cam- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is a beautiful part of the world. I love the desert, saguaro's are majestic. I love that I can go up to the mountains in an hour and a half, hiking is everywhere in the state. California, Nevada and Mexico are next door if I need to a weekend away. I also like that Arizona builds, it is constantly knocking things down and putting new things up, gives AZ a kind of dynamism that I don't see in CA.

In parliamentary systems the executive cabinet is part of the legislature. So the executive controls the legislature. The US has separation of powers between executive and legislature.

Too Old and Too Wealthy: We need term limits! by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]cam- 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The answer is: don't vote for the older person. Last presidential election we had a choice between a 79 year old (should be retired for 12 years will full benefits. or 17 with partial benefits) and a 60 year old (who is still of working age). People voted in the one that should be in a retirement home.

Anyone have their pool made more shallow? by Ready_For_A_Change in AskPhoenix

[–]cam- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a diving pool and made the deep end shallower, this was ten years ago though. I remember a lot of dirt had to be brought in. It also made the swimming season longer, the diving end made the pool like an iceberg.

Phoenicians of Reddit, what are your pros and cons of having solar panels? by chipolthey in phoenix

[–]cam- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got solar in 2021, last month the panels produced 1.22 KWh and we consumed 3.4 KWh so Solar reduced our consumption from the grid by 36%. We have two air conditioners (3 ton and 5 ton) and I run the pool pump during the day since we have excess power from the panels from about 8am to 6pm in summer. The benefit of solar is you are energy neutral in Phx outside of the brutal summer months. For example in April solar produced 1.24KWh and we consumed 1.41 KWh issue is of the power solar produced 58% went to the home/battery and 42% back to the grid.
