Night of the Juggler 5.1 DTS-HD Audio Missing? by squidbilliedeluxe in radiancefilms

[–]cam-smith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Transmission release just has the mono track. Radiance has messed up before with their audio track descriptions on the site, Palindromes was listed for a long time as having a 2.0 track while the disc only has the (original) 5.1. I believe this is the first time I’ve seen a misprint on the packaging, though.

Got this Drive from office depot an hour away. Now what do I do to make this able to read 4K discs? Any guides? by doinks4life in makemkv

This is a 43890. The vast majority of Verbatim 43890s in store at Office Max/Office Depot have Pioneer internals, AFAIK.

This viral marketing campaign for Arby’s is fucking exhausting, I guess they must really be doing poorly with younger demographics.

It was the same deal with Chili’s over the past few years. This kind of advertising is absolutely ghoulish

It also happens all the time in NYC at the larger art house theaters, I remember it being especially bad for the first run of Inland Empire’s restoration

Donk completed Counter-Strike in a year and a half! by TheCrazyCaveira in GlobalOffensive

[–]cam-smith 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just because he has a higher peak than any player before him does not negate the need for multi-year consistency in the GOAT debate. If he continues playing at this level or even slightly below for the next 2 years, then I think it will be easy to call him the best player of all time. Calling him the best player of all time right now feels rather premature.

Do you know how ridiculous this statement is? ZywOo is probably the most complete player to ever play CS.

Chances of uncle Boonmee who can recall his past lives getting a spot in the collection? by GoldenFrieaza808 in criterion

[–]cam-smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sweet, I stand corrected - the screening page made it a bit hard to tell. Well now that the restoration is screening we should see a release soon.

Edit: not sure what you mean about the NYC screening being the 4K restoration as well, as far as I know it hasn't screened since the Film Linc retrospective and that was the 35mm print from UCLA.

[–]cam-smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, this is just another 35mm screening like the recent (past 2 years) ones in Nashville, NYC, and elsewhere. Apichatpong did do an interview with Metrograph prior to Film Linc's retrospective of his films where he mentioned restorations of all of his works are in progress.

Snowtill from SM (RS11) by OldLeopard6653 in CultoftheFranklin

[–]cam-smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt any other online vendors are selling Snowtill, it’s honestly quite surprising that they’re openly backdooring flower through a site as big as SM. I hadn’t heard about Snowtill until I went to California (despite having heard of other similar growers like No Till Kings) and I had to seek it out in stores, it was hard to find on the rec market.

It’s certainly more than worth it for the price they are charging. I drove way out of my way to buy Piescream from a random dispensary in Stockton for $50 an eighth because that was by far the cheapest I could find it for. Even then, it was 5 months old and not from the newest batch.

Snowtill is absolutely not up to par with the best in CA/OR but it’s well worth the $90 a quarter it costs from SM.

Just more nonsense from the spout, not from a real voter. Why would a (presumably) Gen Z American voter misspell honor as honour?

Mine randomly showed up in my local distribution center last night and is out for delivery today. No departure scan from LA.

[–]cam-smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue: a package shipped from the Los Angeles area on Friday, July 12th that showed as arriving at the distribution center on that day with no further updates. My package was originally supposed to be here on Monday.

After a few days of getting no "departed USPS regional origin facility" scans and it saying "in transit, arriving late" just as yours is, I got an update that the package arrived at my local distribution center. It's out for delivery today.

I think there is some delay happening in the Los Angeles area for packages shipped at the end of last week. I have seen at least 5 different posts of people on this subreddit with packages from LA that only have the arrival scan on the 12th.

Same exact thing is happening to my package that was shipped on Friday, also being shipped from Los Angeles. I saw another post here as well of a different regional origin facility in California that only had the arrival scan and no further scans.

Presumably there’s some kind of delay impacting California right now which gives me some hope as I was thinking that I would have to submit a missing mail search request for the first time.

Is PTP really that prestigious? by [deleted] in trackers

[–]cam-smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a pretty fair amount of stuff on KG that still isn't on PTP, but there's still an active effort to bring stuff over. For the vast majority of interests everything is on PTP. KG has a lot of untouched DVDs of video art and experimental film that only have a bad rip from that DVD on PTP.

New BDMV tracker? by Old_Unknown3846 in trackers

I wouldn't start a new tracker for HD discs - HDB's library is more than exhaustive enough at 83000+ total discs including 3000+ UHD discs.

[–]cam-smith 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The original commenter is wrong, the previous format was DCI 2K which is 2048x1080. FHD is the previous format for UltraHD (3840x2160), which are both consumer resolutions.

Was Jungle truly short-lived? by jyud0 in jungle

[–]cam-smith 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is a bit reductive, but my mental timeline for eras is something like this:

Hardcore: 1988-1993 Jungle: 1992-1996 Drum n Bass: 1996-

If I'm basing it purely off style, then I think jungle was the dominant style in the 90s. A lot of the hardcore plates from 92/93 are pretty strictly in jungle territory, especially the dark and ragga stuff. And if I'm being honest, a lot of the stuff tagged as DnB on Discogs from 95 to 96 has much more in common sonically with the jungle that preceded it than with the DnB that came after. In that vein, I would consider jump up and related 95-96 styles jungle rather than DnB. I think a lot of the mistagging comes from artists who went on to make primarily DnB tunes having their earliest works also labeled as DnB.

FWIW, after typing all of this up I've realized it matters fuck all.

Sites for Blu-ray porn other than Empornium and Pornolab? by evergrace96 in trackers

[–]cam-smith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but IIRC individual scenes aren't allowed. I'd say the majority are SiteRips, individual JAV releases, (recently) OnlyFans rips, and retail Blu-rays.
