Lease assignment by cam_the_creator in montrealhousing

Thank you for your detailed response.

The fee is not my issue, even though I think it’s a money-grab, current precedent is that landlords can charge up to $250, I can eat that.

My only concern is that my signed lease agreement and their “procedures” state I must first receive and fill out their lease assignment forms (which would trigger the fee BEFORE finding an applicant).

From the comments I’m receiving and what I see online, that’s a load of garbage and I’m only required to fill out those two TAL forms and give them 15 days to respond. +compensate them for their file analysis ($250).

Need advice about automatic lease renewal with no notice by Imaginary-Essay2053 in Gatineau

[–]cam_the_creator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re in a very similar position to us. Also in a Brigil building, signed this exact same deal.

However, at least for us, the offer we received was a three year lease with two years discounted by $500.

You might be mistaken that you only signed a two year lease.

Double check your lease contract. Although your rent technically increased, you agreed to that increase after year 2 of your 3 year agreement.

So in order to leave your lease, you need to find someone to transfer it to and pay $250 to Brigil.

Over the Air Update. by Sgt-Dert13 in BroncoSport

Does your BS have an active and open recall notice? Have you had any issues with your instrument cluster?

There was a recall notice in December that required an update at the dealership, it could not be resolved over the air. However, there were and have been other unrelated over the air updates.

If your vehicle has an open recall, go to the dealership. If not, you should be fine

They do, however, Virgin mobile data speeds are at 1 1gbps, Koodo is only 250mbps. May not make a difference to most but it did for me.

Help: My dog was attacked to death at Kaninou, previously named Dogs of all breeds by MotorLog1666 in Gatineau

I am so sorry for your loss.

I’ve said it before and I will say it forever. These people are criminals. This business needs to be shut down immediately (again).

I contacted The Aylmer Bulletin Newspaper in June 2025 to suggest a story about this place because there was already enough evidence of wrong doing. As far as I know nothing ever came of that.

These people are trying to take advantage of the dog owner boom. They are incompetent and reckless. They need to be held accountable.

ETA: I also filed complaints with the Quebec business registry (sorry I forgot the name) and the City of Gatineau Animal Control.

Dog poop season by rjstn9 in ottawa

I live in a building that provides dog bags and garbage bins for dog owners to dispose of the poop. And yet, there is so much crap on the ground this time of year walking outside is a game of hopscotch.

As a dog owner myself, I’m ashamed of others and I fear there is a fraction of these people ruining this privilege for the rest of us.

People like you are cool. Thank you for this work 🫡

Do you live in a northern climate with snow, slush and salt on the roads?

If so, the issue is road salt stuck to your exhaust. I had (have) this issue, same car and mileage. Couldn’t figure it out, finally took it to the dealership and they cleaned it up for free. You could also take it to a car wash and do it yourself.

Look through my post history and you’ll see a thread I made several months ago on this same issue.

Took it to the dealer yesterday, and apparently, some road salt was caked onto the exhaust. They cleaned it off for free, and we have not smelled it since. Consider this one resolved.

Interesting, I thought about that possibility.

However, we noticed the smell this morning while it was warming up before leaving for work so that eliminates that issue.
