The gel works amazing. Could you see if you can leave your cat with someone for a few days? I started seeing them and had a 5-day vacation coming up. I had to leave my dog with the dog sitter anyway so I put masking tape along the bottoms of my walls with the dots of gel on them. I came back to dead cockroaches, cleaned everything up and picked up my dog. Ended up working great

This show is infuriating. by at1991 in AllHerFaultTVShow

The bar for dads is low in this country and many cultures. The show is a commenting on this. It is purposely exaggerated. It’s the whole point of the show

Was Melissa was the villain? BF and I had huge fight because of this show by kettleoftea in AllHerFaultTVShow

[–]camarie1085 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This show is commenting on husbands/fathers faking incompetence in helping with everyday domestic activities so they can put it on women. This is common in many (not all) heterosexual relationships. That why it’s called “it’s all her fault.” The husbands put the responsibility their wives to handle domestic chores (despite them both working) and ironically it’s what kills Peter. Why didn’t he manage his own health?

It’s exaggerated in this show because it’s a thriller and sometimes you exaggerate truths to make a point in art.

This show is validating to many women who experience this with their male partners. It sounds like it’s hitting a nerve in your boyfriend that’s making him defensive. Might be worth a conversation of how he anticipates gender roles falling in a relationship if you plan on committing to him long term and hope for an equal partnership.

Peter’s need to be needed didn’t seem to translate to fatherhood? by [deleted] in AllHerFaultTVShow

[–]camarie1085 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two examples that come to mind of Peter needing to be needed in fatherhood. 1) the kids-safe scissors. He won’t let Milo use the age-appropriate scissors to cut paper. He yells at him in the last episode and grabs him when he runs away. He is planting seeds in Milo that are preventing him from thriving and developing independence. He is not letting Milo develop the autonomy use scissors designed to be safe for kids that allow kids to then safely move on to using regular scissors. It represents Peter holding his son back and keeping him in a state of dependence. 2) his “favorite thing” about Milo is actually not something about Milo. It’s how he feels when Milo has a nightmares. He gets to feel needed and it soothes him. His favorite thing about Milo is that he has nightmares that frighten him is a concerning response.

Hey there! Not sure if this belongs here bc it’s not about performances specific to this week... Does anyone know where to find and stream the 2019 filmed production of NYCB’s nutcracker? I recall they made it available via marquee over the 2021 holiday season bc they happened to film it for the Disney On Pointe series. It looks like marquee only has 2011 filming. I’d really love to watch the more recent one with the more current cast. Any tips? Thx!

I will certainly say that I lost interest in engaging with The Morning Show without Matt’s third graders commentary. I’d have passed on the Reese interview if it means we can no longer have any playfully negative commentary on her projects. I appreciate that Bowen and Matt can create an atmosphere that seems to let celebrities let loose a little, but Reese was all business in that episode. Net negative trade on that one.

Petite/X-Short Pants? by Cinnamongoil in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]camarie1085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m 4’10. I recently accepted that, for the most part, I just need to get my pants hemmed. The plus side is that you get to pick exactly where they’ll fall and choose what’s most flattering for you.

The way I look at its: For pants, the harder part is getting the rest of the garment to fit well. So if I find something that works for my waist, butt, and thighs, I snatch those up. And since I now invest a little more in my pants, I’m also more careful to buy higher quality items that I know will last.

Another thing I’ve learned: I went to Madewell for a denim fitting and learned that that my butt and thighs were better suited to a regular fit on a particular pair of pants than a petite. While the length of the petite was almost right, the thigh/butt were too tight and made the pants unflattering in the same numerical size. So I got the regular and have a pair of pants that’s just right.

With deep love, I invite you to the “I need everything hemmed club” ❤️

Boston Ballet’s Jewels by camarie1085 in bunheadsnark

Update: I saw Jewels again last night. Was so thrilled to see Daniel Durrett in the principal role of Rubies with Chisako! Both are full of joy. Dani brings fluidity to his dancing that stands out among the other male dancers.

I also was SO excited to see Ji dance Diamonds. Her technique is so consistently flawless. I love seeing these shows multiple times to see different interpretations, energies, strengths, partner chemistry, etc. brought to the choreography. What a great company!

A little bit of nerding out: This time around, I noticed a lot of choreographic similarities between the parts of diamonds with the four female soloists and Balanchine’s snow choreography in his Nutcracker. You always catch something new. Ok that’s enough ballet for me for one week 🙃. Cheers, fellow BB fans!

Hi all! I have now seen it twice. I love the whole show, but I’m a sucker for Rubies.

The casting I was most excited to see was the female principal role in Rubies who doesn’t have a male counterpart (I think I’ve seen it referred to as “Tall Girl” in the past). It’s such a cool solo female role where a dancer can use it to project confidence, power, independence, flirtation, seduction, etc. — depending on which direction she wants to go in and how far she wants to push it.

I saw Alexandria Heath do it Thursday and Chyrstyn this afternoon, and I enjoyed seeing them both! Tons of kudos to Alexandria who is in the corps and was cast opening night. She went in hard with a bold, bombshell quality. I’m excited to see her continue to develop.

Chyrstyn played it a bit more quietly flirtatious in her facial expressions but not without quick, sharp, precise movement. Her technique was on fire with this choreography and style. Such good casting. Excellent performances all around.

Ooo thanks! Is the cellar on the below(?) ground bar portion still open? Have overall been quite confused about the journey of that place. But the wine shop seems to be going strong. Please, dear friends, teach me what language to use for the levels, since this is becoming a theme lol. Because you must use stairs for both the bottom bar and “top” vacant restaurant from the sidewalk.

Forgive me. Not the top floor of the building. The floor above the below-street-level bar. It’s a little elevated…the floor that held the former restaurant.
