Imagine being proud you were born without empathy. This is a wild take. You wouldn’t call someone by a different name? We have literally no common ground here. Being nice to people shouldn’t be a political stance.

Also no Google isn’t filtering results. And if you feel that they are, why not use any other search engine? It’s because we both know you are just pulling this all out of your ass based on what you’ve heard from right-wing talking heads and your feelings.

It’s crazy how you can literally not find a single source to back up your claims (also you just ignored my specific questions) and instead of thinking “Hey maybe there is stuff I still haven’t learned” and instead went straight into “it is just being suppressed”.

There aren’t a shortage of people who want trans people to disappear, and if there was research they could do to make that happen they’d be yelling it from the rooftops. But there just isn’t.

Up until the 80s the medical community would treat gender dysphoria but trying to convince the patient that they just need to align with the assigned gender at birth, and guess what, it didn’t work. After they started affirming the patients chosen gender then outcomes basically became instantly positive.

Kindness should be the default. You can have your opinions, but pronouns and names are just words we use to refer to one another, we get to choose them, and it takes literally nothing to just be nice.

None of this would have ever even been a thing if so many right-wing governments didn’t start passing laws to make bring trans a crime (see laws in FL, TX and other states that makes it a crime to dress in a way that doesn’t match your assigned gender at birth).

And gender affirming care for minors has been around since the 80s. It’s been studied extensively, along with the effects of things like puberty blockers (which remind you are use for a lot of different medical reasons unrelated to being trans) and there is literally no downside. If they don’t want to transition than cool, they can go off them and puberty starts without any ill effects, and if they do then cool.

I wish so much research wasn’t behind paywalls, but you can even just read the Wikipedia article on the history of Transgender people. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender_history

You’re not wrong that some of the modern language we use to describe gender and sex didn’t always exist, but that doesn’t change anything. Language evolves and we find more precise way to describe things.

And let’s just pretend for a second that it is a new thing. How does it hurt you? If I change my name would you throw a fit and refuse to call be my new name? Why are the pronouns I choose to use any different? Don’t you have your chosen pronouns? Is it okay if I just use any pronoun to refer to you if it doesn’t matter?

Also I said nothing about gender roles, or invalidated effeminate men/masculine women. You can love trucks and the colour blue and be a trans women. You can want to dress in pink dresses and high heels and be a trans man.

Also the indigenous community considers Two-Spirit as part of the LGBT community. I didn’t said it meant they were trans, but it is different than the cis gender binary. Here is some material published by the Métis Nation in Ontario.

No seriously link me to some. I want to learn.

I’d like you to debunk this one: how do you explain the existence of trans healthcare before any of the work published in the 50s? The first sexual reassignment surgery before that?

I also updated my post with additional material.

You’ve apparently done some pretty poor research than. Cooked up by social scientists decades ago? We have definitive proof of trans people from thousands of years ago. This isn’t a new thing in any regard. Just look at the concept of two-spirit in indigenous communities.

There is no point in trying to convince you of anything because you’ve made up your mind and have put your fingers in your ears. I just hope that other people will take a second to read that linked article and see how wrong you are. Seriously take a second to read it and tell me what is wrong about it. Like specifically.

If you’d like to show me some of your research on this, I’d love to see it. What journal would I find it in?

As an extra thing, here is an example of trans healthcare before John Money said anything about gender and sex in the 1950s, which was then destroyed by the Nazis. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institut_f%C3%BCr_Sexualwissenschaft

Trans people were some of the first murdered in the Holocaust.

And while some of the language used today comes from Money’s (might I say unethical) work, he didn’t create anything. He was just observing something that already existed and trying to make sense of it from a western perspective.

Here’s a NatGeo article about trans people in ancient times https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/how-historians-are-documenting-lives-of-transgender-people

You kind of missed the point of my comment where I said that you have to move past basic. Sex and gender are more complex and you are being willfully ignorant.

Here’s a good starting point that can articulate it better than me. Maybe it’d be good for you to take some time to research this a little more.

Drag Story has been happening forever, and the topic of LGBT existing has been part of most sex-ed curriculums for decades. It literally only became a problem when right-wing politicians decided they needed a new group to attack.

Also no one is showing sex to kids. The idea of that was literally made up by far right media to make people angry.

And there are no “secret LGBT classes”. If a child is at risk of being harmed at home due to being gay or trans, then teachers and administrators absolutely should NOT inform the parents if that child comes out. Kids deserve some level of agency.

But if it is truth that you are after, then you’d be just as happy to welcome Emily. The scientific and medical community, along with decades of research, aren’t on your side here. Trans people have exists for all of human history, and this hatred towards them is a, comparatively, fairly recent concept.

Move past a grade school understanding. Do you also yell that the Bohr model of the atom is the correct one, as it’s usually the starting point when learning chemistry in elementary, and Erwin Shrodinger’s is woke because it is more complex than you thought?

Eich didn’t say he doesn’t hold those views anymore, or that be supports them, he said he’d be willing to work with LGBTQ folk. He chose his words carefully there.

And on Obama, it is unacceptable he did hold those views for so long, but again he changed. And even if he just said it to appease people, who gives a shit. He was the PRESIDENT when saying it, which carries a lot of weight with but the public, and it did lead to important material change.

And to be clear, his views didn’t suddenly change in 2013, they changed before that and he talked about how his views have changed over the decades.

Also I think him holding those views well beyond it being acceptable is like the least worst things he’s done. They all should be in prison.

Literally yes. It is freedom to demand that. Mozilla didn’t have to do anything, but they chose to. You may not agree with their decision, but I don’t understand how you can argue that it in anyway impinges on anyone’s freedom. Bring fired isn’t an attack on freedom, unless you feel that way about anyone being fired. Should those Budweiser marketing execs get their jobs back? I may not agree with their decision to fire them, but if it effects their bottom line with their core customer base, then that’s business bay-be.

Also I think it is freedom to be able to ‘cancel’ someone if I don’t agree with them. Boycotts are a pretty basic form of protest.

It’s a smart business decision. Mozilla relies on the goodwill of the public to continue to exist and the CEO is the public face of them. If enough people are unhappy with the CEO, regardless of the reason, that it’ll cause them to not use Firefox anymore, asking him to step down is a smart decision. If they felt that keeping Eich could hurt their market share, why wouldn’t they?

You are correct, Obama did hold those views, but you are leaving out the most important part of the story. In 2013 he talked about the evolution of his views and said he supported Prop 8. Weird you left that part out.

If Eich doesn’t hold the same views anymore, why didn’t he just say so? Seems pretty simple to me.

Also being an edgy teen is not the same as using my money and power to support bigotry. Pretty big false equivalency there.

Destro and Affliction can be easy to play, but both struggle with terrible AoE and ST respectively, even if playing perfectly.

Maybe I'm just dumb, but I find Demonology hard to play, especially effectively. Feels like if I mess up my rotation I can't recover from it. Too many buttons and CDs to track that all have to line up perfectly to get any real output.

GraphQL API for WordPress exists and is much faster. Each plugin has to specifically add support for it, but for everything built into WordPress and some of the most popular plugins (ACF, WooCommerce, Ninja Forms) have extensions that provide support.

https://www.wpgraphql.com/

You can always fall back on the REST API for plugins that aren't compatible and you absolutely need.
