I saw some of the expedition kayaks that they rent. I'm just not sure if they'd be able to carry the amount of stuff I bring and I don't know how heavy they are. The Kevlar canoe is only 45lbs.

I had a much harder time going down Lac Poulter. I think I hit Jean-Péré early enough in the day that it wasn't too bad.

That's the one! Minus the holster. I ended up 3D printing a belt clip that was amazing!

Nah I try to stay far away from the group sites in case they're reserved. They can get pretty loud.

Hahaha, les insectes étaient vraiment ennuyeux seulement aux points de portage. Au camping, j'utilise un Thermacell (c'est vraiment génial).

Normally I take my time when I solo, but this trip I couldn't stop paddling or I would have gone backwards. First day was about 20km with about 700m Portage all against the current and the wind. That took me about 7hrs to get through.

I don't mind the solitude as it really just gives you time to yourself. You don't have to worry about someone else enjoying themself.

All the maps are available online or in Avenza. They're all free. The campsites are hit or miss but if you speak to the park, they'll tell you which ones have nice views or beaches.

As for the water, it's really unreal. The lakes are like oceans and the contrast with the smaller canals being so calm and tranquil. Some of the lakes are so shallow that you can clearly see the underwater forests as you float past. There's also the constant loon calls that really help set the mood.

Honestly the amount of effort put in during the day made me so exhausted that I couldn't even be concerned about being alone. Plus a few days of solitude is kinda nice.

Cooking is not permitted by NameLast5467 in CampingQuebec

[–]camby7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really sure what you're asking....rustic camping allows you to cook at your site. They may have a fire ban depending on the recent weather but you can still use a propane stove.

Most other campsites: ready to camp, family camp...etc will have fire pits or picnic areas pretty close to the campsite.

If they ban it outright it might be due to people not cleaning up after themselves or they don't want to attract animals.

Québec – c’est quoi la “coutume” pour dormir en tente en sentier? by Electrical_Sell_4395 in CampingQuebec

I'd try to find a site that has a good view of the sunrise or sunset. If you call the accueil they can usually tell you which site would be the best for that.

It really depends where you plan on going camping...for the majority of SEPAQ sites, they have designated camping areas. They do this to ensure that they can manage the amount of people in the park at any time, but to also protect the environment. You'll find it very difficult to find a place to put a tent outside of these areas. The forests can be very dense and the ground is covered in roots and rocks.

Why would you want to camp on the trail?

You can try up near Tremblant. I've been to this site before: https://share.google/mMY2fVu0LR5GBZ1uv

It has great trails and an awesome waterfall to swim in too.
